I don't know if there's already a set in stone level cap or not but I think it would be cool if there was no level cap. You would continue leveling but it would gradually become harder (as in most rpg's.) At some point it would be insanely difficult to level (but still possible.) I think it would be fun to know there would always be that one person one level higher than you and that would keep you playing. To try and get higher in level. One of the things I hate most about rpg's is the level cap. Why should we be constricted to a level cap? Why can't we continue leveling and be better than other players instead of being equal in level.
On battle.net there could be a thing showing the highest level player, the highest level barb, wd, wizard, and so on...
If you reach 99, then reach it with another build and another character. If you already did that i guess you've played enough. I'm not a fan of this philosophy that the game must remains forever. Every ends and D3 will end to.
I never did like the fact that you could get to 99 from the start. It's like, so I'm finally to 99! now what do i do?! IMO when you play THAT much to get so high so quick you find yourself getting tired of D3 and end up quitting even though their is still tons of content to uncover. It burns me out at least. Much rather have expansions giving us more content and a higher lvl.
If they were to make it so you can just keep on lvl'ing, then I say thats fine, but don't add more stats or skill points after a certain lvl. Just stop adding stats after lvl 100 or so. That way the people at lvl 300 can showoff that their ranked #1 in the world, but the pvp will still be equal for the people that don't want to pvm all day.
I think 100 (99 was an uncomfortable number) should be the max level as far as getting new skills and stats goes, but from 101+ your level should appear in a new colour, just as a kind of vanity feature.
There should probably be endgame content too. Perhaps a new difficaulty after level 100 where all acts are the same dificaulty and worth the same XP at their respective starting areas. All chapters would be unlocked from the start.
That would have more than quadrupled the number of farmable bosses in D2.
New quests, areas, bosses and loot could then be added and removed by bliz at will.
I would love that! I would play until D4 came out!:D
I think if they put a level cap in well I mean if a character finishes ALL quests and ALL side quests I belive at the end of the game the character should be at the max level so you dont have any of this run crap to get levels.

How about you stop getting skill points and attributes after lvl 99, but your level keeps going up endlessly. There wouldn't be any difference from a lvl 99 or a lvl 120, just showing you where you would be if you could keep leveling up, i think it would be pretty cool. It would be like ranking which would give you .... bragging rights i guess heh.
Lol keep gaining levels...People get addicted you see a gut walk in lvl 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 who just got owned by a lvl 98 lol

A maximum is definitively required, or at least as said, a maximum where you don't get anything anymore. Its nice to have a goal, and achieve said goal. This isn't an actual MMO, I already think reaching 99 was ridiculous especially considering how Diablo 2 works.
I just want to ask -one- thing, if the cap is around 99...
then make it 100.. PLEASE... Reaching "99" as the pinnacle is soooo wrong and gives me a feeling of "there is just that big 1 number missing". 100! I want to reach 100, a good looking number.
I would prefer a max level. I like being able to set a character aside for a while and start something new, but still able to go back to my high level char and help my friends out.
I would LOVE to see some specific content designed for higher level characters to give you something to look forward to afer beating the game on all difiiculties. There should be some insanely hard areas that you would need a bunch of friends to even get through, and would have to be say over level 50 or something like that.
Anything to add re playability to the game will be a good thing.
Well, since some people associated with the WoW team and a lot of WoW players are on the Diablo team, I think we may yet see a lot of that kind of stuff implemented.
I would rather that "reward for incredible loyal players" presented itself in some other form, such as end-game content, so that normal players could still get their character's level to a round number.

also they can make lvling much harder at higher lvls
i wouldnt mind 100 either but anyhigher than 100 is pointless and any lower than 50 isnt that fun x3
