I usually like to know how good my opponent is before I face them, that way I'm not completely surprised if I get destroyed in a duel.
Okay, a lot of people have talked about the ability to click on someone and be able to view there equipment, if this is implemented I think that it would be a good idea to add a tab for PvP stats.
PvP stats could have some things like win/lose percentages in duels, most frequently used attacks, amount of time spent PvPing in dueling games, and total gold lost/gained staking in duels(if they decide to have staking). Also, I was thinking they could add in a PvP level, I'm not completely sure about it yet.
Your PvP level would in no way give you in game benefits, they would just be for bragging rights and to get a general idea of how good your opponent is. There could be an experience system, just like killing monsters.. that allows you to gain or lose PvP experience if you defeat your opponent in duels. You would only gain or lose experience for killing people within your level bracket.
For example, if the levels are still 1-99, levels 1-9 would be a bracket, 10-19 for the next one. They don't have to be ten levels each, whatever the game designers think are appropriate.
Thanks for reading, reply if you have anything to add or discuss.
Showing most frequently used spells or more clues into a person's actual strategy is garbage imo. I'd rather it be an exercise in mid-battle strategy and agility than pre-battle countering.

I'm with you on that one, pvp statistics would be nice, just to be able to keep track of how well you or other people are doing.
We'll probably need some kind of arena for this to work well though.
I do like the idea of being able to see if I'll get raped or not though, or being able to test myself against people who I think I have no chance against ^^.
However, people could easily increase their pvp win ratio by getting a friend to just stand there and get the shit beaten out of them, it would be easily exploitable if Blizzard didn't do anything to stop exploitation.

No "armory" in D3. It is a tool that highly decrease the itemisation in PvP because people are allowed to copy everything from the top players, wich is so freaking lame.
Bad idea imo. If you could see peoples stats/gear etc, they'll be able to change their items according to what type of character you are. Also, I wouldn't want people copy'ing my gear and stats. I would rather have a good build that no one else has thought of. Like the person who thought up the mb/max dr fb sorc in D2. It raped cause it was able to tank all melee's but also had plenty of res for casters as well. But now everyone has them, and its just boring to play against people that are all the same.

it took me about 3 mins to figure out how to make that sorc. it does own.
i could care less about seeing gear, since if the item system is the same we will all know what the good ones are.

Remember the String of Ears
"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
Eh, good point about seeing the gear.
The rest of the idea however, is great.
Didnt think about the fact that it would create cookie-cutter gear setups though, good catch.

cuz then a bunch of ppl would just copy your equipment and it would lose originality =3
i suppose it would happen eventually unless they make a bunch of equipment that around the same lvl so it remains a choice =3
like more uniques and gold like items =3
there was supposed to be a gold item for every item in diablo 1 and 2 (in diablo 1 they were just uniques)
they could make like 4 of each item instead that do completely different things =3
Be my Buddy =^.^=

i love stats...love this idea...
i am such a dork.

It's just so much easier to see exactly how well you're doing ^^.
