first, ill go get the game.
then, read the manual while installing.
next, go to battle net make reserve character names by using them on characters.
make a witch doctor and use the weirdest skills it has and start a build like that.
try out the other character after getting my witch doctor to about level 20
get gear for other characters i will make
create the other characters and play those to level 20
choose which one i like the best. (its so hard to decide)
get the one i like best to a very high level and plan out different builds for each character.
live happily ever after =]
I'll have to wait and see what all of the other classes are before choosing one, but I'll probably do what I did on Diablo 2 when I played it for the first time: max out the worst possible spells and not realize my mistakes until I hit level 50. Then I'll start over again and again until I know the game well enough. Then I'll realize how many more ways there are to make an awesome character in Diablo 3, forget about making the "perfect" character, and just enjoy the awesomeness!
I'll definately be playing a barb until max lvl. I'll log on bnet and create him (named Bulvox) and play alone until i get a feel for the game. I leaning toward a berserker build right now. I plan to go to the midnight release. I'll probably be so excited that ill poopoo in my pants. Staying up and playing all night is a good plan.
All you guys forgot the step before your first step
0) Wait for another year or more
hehe, sorry to piss on the parade
Firstly I'll probably be choosing the Barb or the 5th character (the unannounced one which isn't ranged)
Perhaps the one that transforms?
Parade piss-on-er!!!! lol
Not the 4th character???

I'm gonna steal your name
j/k I use the same set of names....They're too sweet to let go of.

He arrives precisely when he means to."
"Losers always whine about their best, winners go home and Fvck the prom queen."
First, I will open the game and physically rape it. (Just kidding)
After waiting the next year or more.. I'll make my witch doctor named pwnsickle, and go through normal with it to see how I like it. If I don't, I'll try out a wizard or a barb.
This is only with the known character classes available for options.
Well, probably I won't buy it. But when I play, I will start with the Barbarian and I will complete it in Normal difficult and the with other heroes in Normal. And then I will try to make a high level hero. No, I won't probably MAX any hero - it's stupid.
If you're saying what I think you're saying then you're saying that you're gonna torrent Diablo 3...
Not that I'm 100% pure, but who would torrent a game as magnificent as Diablo 3? You wouldn't be able to play on battle.net, doesn't that bother you?
I am going to open that box up, and install the game. Then once installing i'm going to read the manual. I'm then going to hurry and make a character that I always liked best, and try an get a good name like my name as in Anthony or KingAnthony. stuff like that. Then get familiar with the game, collect everything i see.
How? A magic class, a release LAN with 3-4 friends and 48 hours of just playing, eating pizza and drinking soda =) maybe some alcohol as well =) oh and candy... it will be a blast =)
This is exactly what myself and a few friends already have planned, but we are praying that the player limit is at least 5 per game otherwise we are screwed
My brother, best friend, and I will all be in the same room installing. While it is installing we will start a mega Metallica playlist cranked up so loud that we can barely hear our own thoughts.
I will create a Wizard.
My brother will create a Barbarian.
My best friend is undetermined at the moment, but we don't want to have to compete with gear much.
Playing private games we will start out and get through the game as quick as possible on softcore.
As soon as we unlock hardcore, we will all reroll on hardcore. As soon as we get to a decent level, we will begin our quest for the top. My best friend will play the economy, he is a master of it, while my brother and I magic find.
It is destined to be a night/week of unimaginable laughter, fun, and god-like music.
I love playing games in Single Player especially games like Diablo, as a matter of fact I am sure I'll spend 1000 out of 1200 hours playing it in Single Player mode.
Thank god not everyone thinks like you do 'cause Diablo 3 would have been available just online. I am glad Blizzard thinks that - there is a point in doing it in Single Player.:P
Btw: I have internet access.
I understand what you are saying, I've spent a good amount of time in single player, a VERY good amount there.
But when I wanted to finally go to B-net, it bothered me that I couldn't transfer. What I mean by this, is that you can play private games on b-net with the same experience.

"Not Even Death Can Save You From Me" ~ Diablo (II)
well, im sure ill take the female wizard / whatever is closest to sorc / has teleport
I think i'll play pretty far with the first class I pick, try to reach the high end games.. If i've learned something from comp gaming is that the first who reach the top / make a name for themselves usually stay in the elite (clans etc).
If I dont like the class --> I'll start a new one.. Im sure I get a basic idea when I look at the other players playing and get a idea which would be a cool class to try out later.
Problem with starting too many characters for me is the amount of info coming at once.. Better focus and be good with 1 than to be mediocre with 5
Yea, I'm exactly like that..
I can't ever focus, and play more than one game at a time. Some people buy like 3 games, and play 1 hour on one game and another hour on a different game. I have to play one game till I'm done.. lol.
With characters, I'm going to make all 5 characters, maybe 2 of each..just to reserve the name.. But I will choose the Male wizard and play him to death! and then move on. Most games like this, are 10x more fun once you are in the high levels.
But I will be sure to move slowly enough to enjoy every bit of it.

lol im the kind who makes and plays every single class for the first mission and whoever is the most fun from there i play the rest of the game with xD

One thing Blizzard SHOULDN'T do, is put a billboard that has the Diablo3 release date on the highway!
There will be too many accidents..they might loose a few customers.

2) Prepare my Wine prefix for DIII, assuming DIII needs a separate Wine configuration from the rest of the Windows games I play.
3) Install DIII while reading the manual.
4) Take a moment to calm myself.
5) Start DIII.
6) Play around with every character up to level five or ten to see which one I like best.
7) Get distracted and forget all about DIII, until one day I remember that I have it and start all over, play for 30 hours straight, and die happy.

yea, same.
Another way to solve that is to bring a friend who has the same class, and let him test it out, and if its a crappy skill then don't take it
i start public
