I am sure that most of you who have been on the Diablo 3 official website noticed the notorious gem, but the real question is: Unlike the gem in the Diablo II chat room that does nothing, does this gem actually do something?
I dont want more idiotic rumors to start; I really just want to get to the bottom of this...lol
As far as we know i doesnt do jack all, just to make you think it does something and click it 100s of times(guilty :P)
Well it has a LOT of scripting for just being a simple gem, but as of right now it does nothing, though it seems they added room for it to do stuff to me.
Hey Daemaro ive always wondered, whys your name red?:offtopic:
I'm a administrator. Admin names are red, Mod names are blue, User names are the orangeish.

I just had an idea, maybe its got something to do with "The Talisman". They might make the gem findable in the game and you put it in the talisman with some other objects and get some uber weapon or something.

Every time you click the gem Blizzard give Diablo 1 more health point
haha then guess wut. its gonna have to take a fuckin raid to get diablo down. and thats just from me!
but yeah, seriously, thats definitely not wut it does...rofl
i dont understand why blizzard wont tell us wut it does!! i am pretty sure it doesnt do anything because of the only answer that Bashiok or anyone else gave ("The gem has past our expectations" and "The gem is doing exactly what it should be doing, and its working great!")

what do u mean by "it has a LOT of scripting for just being a simple gem.."? how do u know the scripting of it? if its a program, i wanna get it. that would be sick!

So you can see there is a lot of scripting in there but for now it doesnt seem to do anything.
Where did you find that scrip?
And with that comment about what Bashiok said where its doing its job, its job is to most likely make you speculate what it does, and it does BUG ALL
That is the most hilariously redundant script I've ever seen. Someone was obviously told, 'I need to you find the longest possible way to script this little gem to glow when clicked.'
'But why?'
'Trust me. Just pretend you're the worst Flash coder ever.'
And so they did. They deserve a medal.

lol, I thought we agreed that every time someone clicks the gem Diablo3 is delayed 1 hour.
I would love for them to announce the number of times that gem was clicked from the announcement of Diablo 3 till its release. The number is probably in the millions...but seriously, its GENIUS.
