Even if one takes every reefer madness allegation of the prohibitionists at face value, marijuana prohibition has done far more harm to far more people than marijuana ever could
The crater of the meteor located in the old Tristan Cathedral.
It's a symbolic place, where Diablo Reborns in his ultimate form I guess, according with the profecy mentioned in the books, bla bla bla, internet, bla bla bla, wikipedia, bla bla bla (!)
I think this will be somehow the end boss scene where will join a huge war along side the forces of Sanactuary united, against the forces of hell... which then a huge hole will irrupt in the ground and The 3 brothers will emerge... possibly as a one form... This is going to be sick imo...

Also, judging from the size of that crater, the surrounding cities and strongholds would of been destroyed.
Which means that the one you see there must of been re-built in the 20 years between the end of D2 and D3
Seems like a bit of a task... especially with their technology... unless they use magic to build things, but thats never been mentioned in the world of Sanctuary
If you look on the map of Sanctuary, this is probably the place named "Bastion's Keep" next to the crater
P.S - It doesnt really make sense that they would re build a keep near a crater though... The Worldstones gone, so why protect the crater?

Bastion's keep would make sense, given a keep can be a fortress of sorts. And they look like they are in one. Maybe Demonic powers built it...
Maybe they didn't rebuild it to protect the crater, but to protect the world from things coming out?
I was thinking the same thing. But then I remember that the general impression I got from Blizzard when they were talking about Diablo 3 was that everyone is ultra relaxed and thinks evil is gone, so much so that people are even denying that it happened in the first place (ignorance is bliss, so lets just move on). 20 years and the average population are convincing themselves angels and demons don't exist, and people are calling Deckard Cain an old nutter for preaching about the impending doom
Hmm... quite a weird issue though, I suppose the mass of blissful ignorance would come from the places less effected like Westmarch and other places where evil didn't really spread. Whereas the surviving Barbarians wouldn't have the luxury of shaking it off as tall tales and legend, with the evidence right infront of them
Therefore, it must of been purely a Barbarian effort to rebuild the keep... They must be quite paranoid to build a keep around a crater, or perhaps they still saw it as a sacred site even though destroyed, still worth protecting
Wow.... Could of saved myself typing all that and just said "I agree"

Or maybe it has some sort of special meaning to the remaining barbarians.
I am pretty sure that is the crator left by the world stone explosion as the meteors hit in the area around tristam, which by lore, is far away from mount arreat.

Those before me shall quiver in my wake as I unleash the fury within!
Although there's one thing I wonder! How is the army going to get off that mountain! They are in great numbers, and there is no much space around it!
My guess is that the two people in the picture are soldier's from Bastion's Keep. Perhaps standing on the town wall, or a watch tower, looking down into the crater which is filled with a demon army.
I think for some reason demons are amassing at the crater. I assume we'll find out why in D3.
not really sure where/what this is. any thoughts?
my religion.....

Whatever it is, I know that it isn't the meteors crater from the one which hits the Tristram Cathedral
This stil doesn't explain the two (guards?).
Duude! That totally makes sense! As if they've adapted to the crater, using it for soemthing. The mountainous terrain around the area makes sense too.

It turns out though they didn't settle for a crater but went with a broken mountain.
This appears to be what they started with as a concept:

This seems to be the next idea:

If you notice they're the exact same picture except for the mountain in the middle.
And this seems to be the final product from the cinematic:
