for anyone who said this will ruin PvP, obviously it will not! If anything it will just make it better (remember in Diablo 2 you could set a level restriction if you were scared of higher levels or did not want noobs in your game)
personally I hated the fact that chars capped at 99 in d2, I think it should take much more effort to reach max level! (several years)
although Im sure people will be quick to find a boosting exploit so it won't really matter anyway (try and tell me you never did a baal run or boosting of somekind in d2)
A player that contributes years of life into a video game should be rewarded by attaining higher levels than most. If you find it is taking to long to reach the next lev you can always start a new char (my opinion this was the most amazing part of Diablo games)
I agree with you and think it should be difficult to attain the higher levels. However, I say that knowing that I will not have the time to devote to such an endeavor!
yeah most of the public will not either! that is what makes it so juicy!
Ha ha, I guess it would give an advantage to you then, hmmm?
Perhaps it would work if it did not in turn ruin the game for those that do not have as much time to spend playing?
behold the beauty of in game Level Restrictions!
Also I do not consider it ruining it for someone (example, kiddy science fair, one kid spends 30 mins slapping together a crap project, while another Kid spends every waking second on his masterpiece)
If you have invested years over another player YOU DESERVE TO OWN THEM!
although Im sure people will be quick to find a boosting exploit so it won't really matter anyway (try and tell me you never did a baal run or boosting of somekind in d2)
I didn't for any real chars at least.
What I considered real chars was any classic character or hardcore character. I had 2-3 LOD softcore characters that got boosted to hell along with my friends characters but those characters were built just for some casual dueling(1-4 times/ week) in 1.09.
I hate boosting, 8 ppl party runs etc. Cow runs, cs runs, baal runs, bloody runs whatever. Anything involving more than 4 player party is something I hate.
I hope they get rid of those runs in Diablo3 and that we would have several places worth of exping. Maybe some kind of diminishing exp if you kill monsters in same area all day. When you change area you would get better exp there for a while and so on.. Lets say if we have like 3 endgame areas.. if you clear them all you don't get any diminishing exp returns but you would get some sort of exp bonus for next game. This way you would always favor of clearing more than just Baal and his minions.
I certainly hope they can create a balance, because I know for a fact that a lot of people that play Diablo take gaming very seriously and is a big part of their lifestyle.
Im glad to see some people agree with me! I also grew very very tired of the lvl 99 cap.
I was a classic player. not LOD, even though I couldnt reach 99, i was always in the 90's and it got old really fast.
Sure it makes players make for characters, but at one point when you have 20 dins, 20 zons, 20 sorcs, 20 barbs, You dont really want to make anymore damned characters!!!
I say let the high level go sky high, and actually have a godly character!
So what if theres a race to see who's the Godliest, I WOULD JOIN THAT RACE!
I think it would be fun as hell!

Battle not with monsters lest ye become a monster and if you gaze into the abyss the abyss gazes into you.
I vote level 100 skill cap/ level 1000+ special custom honorifics in name. The attributes should not ever cap off, as you deserve every extra little bit you attain.
It should take a damn long time to reach 1000 though!
In a game like UT the improvement curve is much more jagged and is kinda like Oblivion, anyway - you get better in what you do.
In Diablo II, though... not really... which is a shame. I would like DIII to be a proper PvP game this time around, where people reach the level cap and compete, and/or with a separate system where people are automaticalled leveled to the level cap and offered a set of skills, attributes, and items for a match.
All else = fail PvP aka DII. I guess it can be fun but it will never become serious.
Leveling up needs to be fast, but hard , you know what I mean? Eventually, just like every diablo, there is going to be places to farm exp, but I hate the idea of limitless level. Pointless, because it's just going to end up destroying the game.

I'm falling apart inside; watching you mourn over my death.
Yea but they don't rule out one another. Also in a game like UT the most important factor for being good has to be quality of how you play, still you need quantity to achieve this quality which is abstracted in more RPG orientated games in the form of "good items" for example.
I totally agree.
But imo items are a much more cooler way to improve yourself then a endless farm =)
From what information I have gathered, i doubt it will be easy to farm.
Especially when the make games to where a max of 4-5 people join per game.
What I see from peoples opinions: Everyone is tired of the lvl 99 cap. its a stupid number to stop at.
150 sounds pretty good. Also remember that upon each lvl, you able to get (by killing monsters) more gg equipment.
If they make D3 with a lvl cap at 99, then its just like fucking D2!!!
woohoo, lvl 99...its nothing new!
I say more than 100 but NO more than 200.
The 200% gap in lvling compared to D2 would be A LOT more fun I think.

PvP = Gear
A lvl 90 vs a llvl 85 is pretty much a fair fight.
OH and yes grinding = GEAR
If u want to be the best in diablo u need GEAR and SKILL and just hope for good MECHANICS This Time!
Attribute Cap @ 1000
(endless hours of game play!)

For me be good in a game is a matter of quality not quantity.
