in diablo 2, you would spend not very much time to finish a difficulty, and then when you "beat" the game you would start doing baal runs, and uber tristram. the game kinda stopped there.
but in WoW, there was no limit to the game really. it was designed to last a long time, and i think that is because of the lack of storyline. no total storyline is good, because you don't have to make an end. this made WoW extremely fun to play even after months of being lvl 60/70. what with new dungeons, arena armor, and expansions, the game didnt stop. that was the problem with d2. it got extremely boring, and when you wanted to make a new character, the process repeated. there was no races like in WoW, so we all started in the same town, had the same quests, same bosses to kill, blah blah blah. there was only one path you could go to finish the game. in WoW, you could lvl wherever you wanted. it kept the game new and exciting. plus, there was no random drops. you did a dungeon with something specific in mind, which made the game less random and repetitive.
i think that diablo 3 should be like WoW in this way, so its a lot harder to get bored.

go back to playing wow, you're a blizzard fanboy, wow is garbage and we pretty much hate everything about it, yadda yadda yaddadimean? Seriously though, I don't want to have to go to a specific dungeon to find a specific item, because if it's that easy then everyone will just farm those spots and nothing will be rare/sought after. Then they'll have to introduce group content, featuring the best items as reward, and we'll be playing wow.
I'm sorry, but fuck that. Even the WoW fanboys on this site are going to agree with me on this one.

Diablo on the other hand its more random rare drops not just going to a certain place. its got a storyline you want to follow and go over in-depth.
