In-game Auction House/ISO System where users post items anonymously with no price listed (you can post comments for what your looking for).
When you find something you would like to trade for there is an option to contact the buyer/seller and make a deal. However the game will mask the two individuals names as Buyer and Seller. Once an agreement has been made and both parties want to trade they click a button to do the trade. This will then send the buyer and seller into a private trading game where there names are hidden from eachother and then they complete the trade. Once in game you can do all the trading you want. The users will not be able to type there own name in chat boxes to prevent sending there real names to eachother.
Blizzard can also disable trading of items of a certain value in "regular games". Players can join random "trading games" where their name will be hidden, and unrestricted in-game trading can occur. Players can not choose which trading game to join and can not see the name of the game.
The down side to this is that you would not be able to trade with friends easily. To counter this, Blizzard can also make it so that if you have a mutual friend for 10 (or more) days you can trade without restrictions (and gain a special achievement :-]). This will not prevent FG trading but will make it very annoying.
Then all blizzard has to do is make sure gold is not the common currency and it will make things very difficult for gold farmers.
With this system trading stays FUN, LEGIT and EASY!
d2jsp has a bitter sweat place in my mind. on one hand it really streamlines the trading process. you can find builds you might never have thought of and find equipment you didnt know existed. on the other hand it leaves almost every trade game empty and its extremely easy to get ripped off.
i would not like to see a d3jsp for sure. i think the economy should be based entirely in game/official web browser (although i dont really understand that system as i dont play wow)
i think ingame trading and transfering will be streamlined in game eliminating the need for jsp to a lot of folks.
trying to trade is the single worst part about dialbo. In WoW you can go level while your loot and stuff is being sold, and it gives base prices for thigns that the players determine based on how useful it is, whereas when you get a rare item, it could be worth nothing, or possibly more than you could ever spend because there are so many random mods in diablo.
anyways, a stable economy is vital to this game's success, spending half your day trading and having a bunch of characters full with good items sucks.
The way this was dealt with in WoW was a propper gold system and also BoP and BoE items (which, I will admit, did suck at first but when you get used to it, its not bad) so that the really good items didnt get over flooded and there was a standard currency that anybody could get, but would just have to work for it, as opposed to hoping to find a super rare item or something to get anything half way decent and sell-able
If they make items in d3 boe or bop I will prolly not play the game
Ok I have decided to draw a picture for those of you who still cannot understand why this system is good. Its like d2jsp only faster in-game so no alt-tab and it puts a stop to item and gold selling websites.
This is just an example and there would obviously be many more nice features that blizzard could add. Like being able to drag and drop your items into your post so when people are searching for items they can view the item and all of its stats.
All it needs is a blatant rip-off of the Grand Exchange in Runescape. You can hate that game with the fiery passion of a thousand dieing suns, but the Grand Exchange is just...perfect.
on my realm (uswest hcl) and many others it became impossible after about 2006? to do any sort of meaningful trading without using d2jsp.. and since people can purchase fg for money it really streamlined the process for those that wanted to shortcut getting end game gear by replacing in game time, effort, and dedication with cash.
d2jsp magnified all the the inequality found in-game:
with few exceptions, those that used cheats (bots/mh/iphunters) have the most fg
with few exceptions, those that use real money for in game items/fg have the most fg
i think that any exchange of in game items for real life money (or exchange of real life money for currency used to procure in game items) is crappy and i hope that (their own stuff aside) blizzard does all in their power to shut down sites that are used for such purposes.
and i also Really hope that the stuff that blizzard intends to sell to its users are only of superficial value.. only adding to the character's look.
hopefully an auction house and other in-game currency will exist and be sufficient for trading so that there will be no need for d2jsp and the like

serving only to ensure absolute vulnerability to the pain of their inevitable absence.
Best system so far...
