Wait what? Owning a website is not a job. Even if you work like me, I can still go a website in my free time and talk around (post or even update). Like myspace for example....
First, in benefit of those who do not know this is the hierarchy:
1. Mockery was former owner of Diablo3.com domain name for the past 10 years. He is the boss.
2. Umaro was/is webmaster / administrator of the diablo3.com community and website.
3. I was invited to be co-webmaster / newsposter. I have never been owner of this website, domain or community. As courtesy for hosting Blizzplanet, I linked to this forum. I am owner of only blizzplanet.

so just becuase you have a job now, how would it stop you from owning this site etc? (with the help of mods like mockory of course)
Sorry for the misunderstanding, I am not leaving because I have a job now. I know people that has a job, and works on fansites in the evening. That's not the case here.
My new employer is another website. There is conflict of interests. I was asked not to continue work here, while getting paid there. That's a big difference.

He doesn't own this site, he kidn of works for Mockery/Umaro and gives updates and reports on Blizzard. But now he ahs a paying job for another fansite for blizzard. And because it competes with this site, he can't really help out here anymore.
Killer-swift summarized it neatly. What he said.

Yeah I think this place is screwed in all honesty.
Diablofans was formerly Diablo3.com -- so this community has been alive and kicking for over 10 years. My leave won't affect much. I have only been an official newsposter here for about six or seven months. Actually, I joined around April 2008, a month before the countdown to May 1 where Mockery officially announced Diablo3.com domain name had been acquired by Blizzard -- which started the ZOMG-ball that Diablo 3 would be announced at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals in Paris.
Yes, I updated quiet often, and I have a lot of contacts in the community and other Blizzard licensed companies, as well as community managers at Blizzard. But Diablofans won't be screwed. There are people with more knowledge and passion than me about Diablo games that could fit very well as newsposters.
Best regards to you, MD. You really helped this community out and we hope to learn from your examples and take over and continue to thouroughly inform the Diablo community! Peace!
Seems like just yesterday, you showed up here and was full of kicks and tricks. I remember being a little jealous of you (I honestly was man), because you would post such constructive and intelligent threads which made me think that, maybe this guy is for real. As time went by, you became a more and more distinctive presence in this community and in our lives, by bringing us the news and giving us a sense of pride and dignity. (The rumors and gossip that was going around in the old days kind of sucked, for those of you that remember;)). I guess you can almost say you were our Fox news, the way Fox should have been.:D
Reaching the end of the story, it really saddens me to see you go, knowing you came so far, but good things never last forever. All we can do is say good bye and make our piece.
I bid you a farewell and good luck. I know the future holds great promise for a man of your talents. You will surely be missed.
I've always respected the work you've done for this site. You've brought us constant updates, dug deep for relevant information, have always kept a professional attitude, and overall been very friendly and easy to work with.
Yeah, times are rough and so is the economy right now. Whatever personal reasons you may have had to leave for aside, I totally understand your position to need to dedicate more of your time to your new job. I hope whatever it is you're doing, that you will still visit us whenever you can. Good luck my friend.
I have read a lot of threads and besides the isolated disturbances and wishes to strangle LinkX and a few others (joke), I enjoyed this community.
Except we all know your not joking about the strangling part...
Either way, you won't see a tear from this section of the forums, a party perhaps, but not a tear. I'll probably miss you as much as I miss, I really don't know... Nothing to compare the likes of you to...

Speak for yourself, I was tearing up near the middle of his post
You and the Diablo III devs deserve a Hall of Fame here, Medievaldragon. You will surely be missed by anyone and everyone that has ever visited this small community. You made us prosperous in news and information, and we will be eternally grateful for that. Noone can ever replace someone as epic as you. I wish you the best of luck in your new job, and hope you can survive these tough economical times. I will miss you, Tom.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
