Apparently it's jam-packed with information which easily debunks many theories and puts much speculation to rest. It's really great and I don't remember it being posted in the news section. The big problem is that there is no English transcript of it, but Google translates from German well enough to understand most of it. Here's some points of interest:
- Health orbs heal a % of your total health, whatever it may be
- Jay estimates approximately twice the quests per act, compared to D2
- Confirmed: no mounts
- Confirmed: no Town Portals
- First boss kill is more likely to drop a class-specific item that will be immediately useful to you. Quests for special bosses will reward items similarly to make progressing easier (it's obviously not how end-game works).
- LAN is only currently not in the works. It is not definitively said to be out.
- Difficulty levels (normal, nightmare, hell) are confirmed again
- There will be no constant content updates WoW-style
EDIT:
- Yes, I forgot to mention: you will obviously be able to inspect and be inspected.... Awesome.
- Maybe I misinterpreted the part about the TPs. It seemed pretty clear that they are out but I might be wrong. It looks like they are replaced with another type of warping mechanic that is not player-managed.
looks great but I would (and probably so would everyone else) if someone German could read it and give us the summary in case anything is lost in translation.

The Diablo Series is one of the only games with such a crazy fanbase and no game can top that!

- As expected.
- Main Quests right ? I won't a huge side quest database =(
- Mounts would be cool...
- Good news =)
- Didn't like this.. I hate those one reward quests/drops (Hellforge u.u). It won't stop anyone to get that reward many times they want to, once all you've to do is creat another char and go there with a quick run/rush. It's just a broken system for online game.
- Never played at lan, but it's a bad new for the ppl who played =/
- Good. But i would like one more mode.
- The worst news ever =( Online diablo is very limited for the lack of atualisations and new content. The smalls quest they putted was very fun =''(
Jay also said that he wasnt sure if the game was gonna be PTP or not but he mentioned that they were a multinational company and such. That can probally be seen as bad news.

Don't expect it to be exploitable. In D2 there was this relatively huge gap for players who progressed from levels 30 to 75-ish and above that because they could not grind for their gear or trade for it. Begging for free items is not a valid concept. Apparently the first boss kill will reward something that will help you progress. Don't expect them to drop anything end-game.

Well see, they ARE making a game that is shipped as a self-sufficient, finished product that plays out of the box once you paid for it. However if Jay said that it means there is no P2P there would be big issues if at some point it turns out that there is a sort of a fee, and that is not a decision the development team makes. As hinted previously, some areas MIGHT have to pay a certain fee, and Canada was mentioned as an example. Certain areas of the world require much greater localization efforts and language-specific customer support, server support, patch support. WoW is a P2P game and only this year they launched Russian WoW servers because of the difficulties (renting a usable gameserver in Russia costs a fortune, and 95% of Russian people never bother learning a second language).
Basically they are not making a P2P game, but something might come up and Jay Willson can't promise you anything since he is not making any decisions in regards with that. It might make you wonder why they joined USEast and USWest into one (USA) realm, and separated North America?
ahh, first off I want to say I read the whole interview thing, and I don't know german so it seemed to take forever to read the automatic google translator version.
But anyways, I just want to clarify the no TP thing. They didn't exactly say No portals, they just said they just were sick of people taking advantage of the ability to port to town whenever they want, because it basically gave you unlimited health and mana. From the 20 minute gameplay video, you see Cain use a portal, but he waited until the end of the dungeon to do it. There might be only certain spots you can do it in.
Oh and you can now inspect (view people's armor) !! I really like this addition.
Plus you know when people are inspecting you, which is also cool.
And drops from bosses, you see see your own individual loot, so nobody can snatch it from you. I like this, because usually the person with the quickest hand and fastest computer/internet wins the unique items.

Its not an mmorpg, and with what they did to WoW from warcraft, that may be the only saving grace D3 has from being completely wow-ized.
You are being a bit paranoid there. WoW did not invent the concept of having content. Would you rather have D3 a repetitive mini-game that you can finish in one day? If that's what makes it not 'wow-ized', then I prefer my D3 'wow-ized' thank you very much. I really can't grasp how people can not look forward to expansions and such and think of them as a whatever-ification.
You need to get the WoW out of your head and start thinking about other things.

I agree, small comparisons can be made, some good and some bad between Diablo III and WoW(let's face it, World of Warcraft didn't get to be one of the most popular games in history because its a bad game). But once you start to immideately shoot down new and probably fun and well working ideas because they bear a small resemblance to WoW you make it difficult for Blizzard to make the game and for yourself to enjoy it when it really shouldn't be.

I couldn't agree with you more. WoW has such a large variety of things that almost every video game can somehow relate to it, and if one person notices they complain and say its too wow-ish.
I can understand if they started off introducing diablo three with little elves and stuff like that but blizzard would not do that. Besides, WoW does have some cool features that diablo three is going to borrow that don't make it a "bad" or "copied" game. Like the new inspect feature..

Its because it brought an unexperienced sub-genre of gaming to millions of players how had never seen it before. The caliber in this situation is somewhat irrelevant as long as the game isnt absolute crap.

I play an mmorpg, it just doesnt happen to be wow. I dont mind mmorpgs, but diablo isnt an mmorpg. If you turn d3 into an mmorpg, guess what comes with... monthly fees, as well as a whole slew of other mmorpg traits. (and considering WoW is bliz's only mmorpg, guess what alot of those mmorpg traits would look like).
To many people want Diablo 2 instead of Diablo 3, you seriously need to get your ass out from under that rock if you think Blizzard won't pull elements from past games and current games that are successful.

not really, just alot of people want a diablo 3 thats true to the series. Theres a difference.
Your opinion vs mine. Tying to discredit someones opinion isnt appreciated by anyone. You'd like me to get over what blizzard's been doing with their titles I once so enjoyed, id like you to get over the fact not everyone thinks what you think.

By that logic, you shouldn't enjoy Diablo II should you? He said he enjoyed the small content updates in Diablo II: LOD, they we're small and far in between but they we're there and that added variety to an old game. He dislikes that they won't be around in Diablo III, and you are happy because small (and large) content updates are featured in MMORPGs? So you would rather pay and get less gaming material because this feature bears a slight resemblance to one set in place in WoW?
