i think what would piss me off. is that the diablo 3 game still felt like diablo 2. to me that would be my worse fear for the game. but we will never know until it comes out.
The Assassin's return would piss me off because it means one less new class to play. If we had more than five available slots, I'd welcome the Assassin with open arms because she was a great class. As for Diablo III feeling like Diablo II being a cause for anger, I really disagree with this point here. Why would you want Diablo III to play differently than Diablo II?

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
well it would be like playing diablo 2 in a new look. i mean. was diablo 2 different then diablo 1? did you feel that when you played diablo 2 that it was a different feeling then diablo 1? that is what im getting at
Don't worry. We don't close threads just for poor grammar and spelling.
But why would the Assassin's return piss anyone off? I only wish they would bring back this class.
And it's likely they are fucking with you anyway.
Lol.
I used to play an Assassin along with a barb, two which I used a lot. I wouldn't want the Assassin to return, and I didn't want the Barbarian to return. We need something new.
the only thing that would make me hate blizzard, is if they cancelled Diablo III all together. Other than that, I don't mind anything.
Unless of course the secret level is gonna be called something like, Bunnies in Rainbow land (unless the bunnies are scary and the rainbows have really dark colors)
-Kicksins may be one of the top 5 dominating builds in the game. they could solo ubers, they have crowd control, they can pretty much damn near do everything except chaos runs (like a barb). this was the only real attack would could use in martial arts for pvm....wasted tree
-Whirlwind assassins....well they sucked but IMO the funnest player to pk with by FAR, the only people they would kill were casters and crappy players unless you make the build of a trap/ww which is EXPENSIVE. overall, ww sins were mediocre
-Trap sins were not bad char, throw an infinity merc into the pic and hell wasnt that hard of a difficulty. toss some LS and DS down.
ANYWAYS, comming to my actualy point. i think the assassin WILL make some sort of appearence in d3. why? because just like the barbarian, the assassin was a good character, but it could be improved on by SO much. they said the barbarians the only returning class, i know, but i believe in some way or form the assassin will return
it would also "piss alot of people off" because the assassin is really a love-hate thing. you either love em, or just never touch them. and quite a few people dont liek them

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)

amen!
i didnt like that class that much (didnt like both of the expansion classes to be honest) but new games should mean new gameplay features and older classes rarely offer such.
Who cares if an existing class returned? I hardly see anyone throwing a fit over the Barbarian's return. And his class is one of the most boring ones in the game. Yes, I know that's just my opinion. But for all I know, they're going to be doing so many new things with the Barbarian class that maybe it will be like a whole new class anyway. That, added with all the new aesthetics of the Barbarian as well as how the new gameplay features will compliment his class, why should I make a fuss?
So why couldn't the Assassin return and be just as refreshing and new as the Barbarian may be? Sometimes existing classes are such great concepts that it's a good thing to keep them. Otherwise you end up getting classes like the Witch Doctor. So I totally disagree with Krow's logic on that. It would make perfect sense to me if the Paladin returned because the Zakarum play a huge part in the Diablo story. Just like the Barbarians of Sescheron. Or just like the Assassins who hunt down corrupted mages. There's always room in a game like Diablo for classes such as those.

I loved the barb in d2... and I think its a bit lame its returning. It was my fav clas in d2. I think they should have renamed it something similar instead of giving it the same name.
Assassin was my favorite D2+LOD class but I'm not crying if they don't bring it back. We have other great classes to play with. Right now, I'm sure I'll be pursuing both a Barbarian and a WD (mainly WD), because I already fell in love with them.
thank you for the enticing comment
anyway...i was saying most people hate the assasin and if not then im retarded anyway i do believe they are FUCKING WITH OUR MINDS TO MAKE US FLIP for nothing

witch doctor seems like a secondary spellcaster to me. noones gunna wanna be a witch doctor but everyones gunna want one on there team.
anyway the assassin is awsome, prob one of the most underrated chars in d2.
False. If you're talking to someone who doesn't really care a shitload about change, and just wants to have good ol' funny, while seeing the story unravle, he'd have no problem using the Witch Doctor if he used to use the Necromancer in Diablo II. I know at least three people who are really excited to use him. All three used a Necro in D2.

At first, I didn't care if an old class returned, but since Blizzard has officially announced that no old classes are returning except for the Barbarian, one has newer and higher expectations. We don't expect old classes to be renamed and told that it's a new class; that would be insulting.
The Witch Doctor does feel like a new class to me. I don't see it as a Necromancer v2.0 and I'm sure a large majority feels the same way (the Necromancer fan boys). But then again, your point on the Paladin is a good one since it's an integral part in the Diablo universe. I think a Light class will make it into the game as a Crusader. The name sounds so fitting :D.
I really don't want to see more returning classes. I think they must return some, but creat new classes is a must. We need to play with totally new things (not partially new things).
I hated the sin in d2. Thats almost nothing new about her. Just a regular melee class with some ass kicking skills, buffs, etc.. I don't like to have classes with similar gameplay. Imo if the game have 3 melee class they must be very(!) diferent, like one must use stealth to avoid direct confrontation and other can tank retaliate the foes and other must cast spells to aid him in the battlefront.
Off:
The WD concept is very nice to me. I loved it, but the character model is horrible. They should look like Act 3 Concil Member imo, not that troll coming out of Azeroth.
idk what it will be but maybe it will b druid because again i have seen people say it sucks and was horrible but hey im only listening to others imo DRUIDS rock but to some others i can ay they hated it and i just thought of something why does it have to be a character why cant it be a returning ACT or a RETURNING retarded NPC what if they said wirt is your companion he was risen by a shaman by accident in tristram or ACT 3 Returns or ACt 5 is the first acts and all the acts will be that short for the main storyline and really all thequest lie withing player specific quests
