There's a bit of both types heard in the trailer. But I doubt the epic parts will be heard in dungeons at all.
Ya thats the thing i doubt the music for the dungeons will be a problem it just for the parts like with the big cinimatics if they usemusic like they did in the trailer then imo it will take away from the feel of the scene
1) random quests, (yay)
2) dark, shady dungeons
3) scrolls and spell books (in addition to skill trees {like a general magic catagory}, yes please)
4) Strong cohesive story elements throughout the title
5) Creepy ambient music
Hell yeah!
i wouldnt mind tomes like the ones in Diablo 1 where you were told the stories (no effect in gameplay, just for the atmosphere) either.
i remember the other quest we got from a tome...
"Beyond the Hall of Heroes, lies the Chamber of Bone... eternal death awaits any who try to steal the treasures secured within this room. So speaks the Lord of Terror. And so it is written."
When i had continuously played D2 for hours just levelling my char from the get go, the music became monotonous (only cuz it was playing continuosly) so i started playing the Lord of the Rings soundtrack whilst playing and just keeping the SFX of the game loud enough.
I remember, there was one time, in the rogue monastery, that i killed Andariel, and as she died "the bridge of Khazad-Dum" (main kick ass song from LotR) began to play. Just imagine how that felt.
My point is,
A Musical Score... that is effected by events in the game! <-------awesome!
I'm sure they will include the pointer hand,it probably just isn't one of their top priorities at the moment, so it will probably be introduced when the game is nearing completion.

Don't try to be a great man, just be a man... and let history make its own judgment. -Zefram Cochrane, Star Trek
When the soundtrack started getting boring, I listened to Metallica or Lamb of God. Master of Puppets while playing as necro, Battery when playing as barb, Ride the lightning, Trapped under Ice, and Jump in the Fire. for Sorc....
I actually agree with all those points
Way Points I think i read somewhere will be in the game i don't remember where or if i just made that up haha, but yeah those are necessary and the socets are nice to throw some gems and jewels in not gonna make awesome equipment but can make bland equipment more fun.
I most highlly agree with bringing back BIG D and make him more badass than ever before because the 1st game he was a big baby, and 2nd game while he was cool as hell all he had on you was the crimson lightning

I can't believe hair metal used to be cool...

YUCK!
I enver liked pure socket items, once its auseless constumisation. You may get a elite wepon full o sockets and put perfect gems, still it's not a good item. To fix this they created the runeword.
I think sockets could be like in wow. Some magic, rare and unic equips have small amount of sockets dor a small constumisation.
It's like have infinity open socket questings.
I actually agree with all those points

In my opinion, Diablo 1's big D was more scary than any other... Don't you remember the roar from the cinematic? Really creepy ^^ Though creepy doesn't mean badass-looking and Diablo 2 and 3 most certainly go for 'badass-looking'. If Diablo 1 goes for 'Horror' and Diablo 2 goes for '50% Horror'.... then Diablo 3 goes for no horror at all.
Anyway, yes you are right, they did mention they keep the Waypoint system. Also they add 'Check Points' between the WPs because the WP are going to be more far from eachother than before (from what I understood)
1) Stereotypes
2) Pun named items.
3) The mage from Diablo 1
4) The witch from Tristram
5) Mercenaries as partners, not following pets, like in the gameplay video.
