lovely! no more endless clicking without having to worry if we're gonna die because of 40%+ life/mana leech!
at least we're gonna have some challenge in the game! as we did in Diablo 1!
(i'm not ironic or anything, i really mean it).
Cut the crying and be happy because of the fact that they are trying to ballance things... You know nothing about D3 and you already assume that it needs leeching.
i pretty much disagree. theres cant be tactical use of life or mana leech. its a constant effect, while you can decide when to pick up the health orb and when it makes more of a difference. The fact that the potions arent going to be so easy to get (if there are any that is) together with the lack of life leech will finally make the game a challenge to finish.
Thanks, i read it and it's interesting.. the thing about "no more life \ mana leech" kinda sucks.. Hope they will balance the game right so they can put it back in the game, it's lame without it.
Thx a lot again for this.
Btw it should be in the NEWS section.. admins, do you'r job.. other sites getting it faster

Haha wow, those randomly picking up for no aparant reason other then just having "defeated foes" platform health blob powerups unbalanced the game so much they had to do away with leech?
Lame.
Yes... you figured it all out in the matter of one sentence. Conglaturations! Enjoy Diablo 2!
Now as for leech. I would have to see exactly how the game plays out since the way it is going to play is going to be different from the previous Diablo games.
They just think that stacking stats that help you regenerate health compromises their goal of making you dependent on health orbs and, therefore, dependent on strategy.
Okay, so far as I know, no one who has been complaining (or defending, to be fair) has even PLAYED THE GAME. How can we really give any kind of opinion one way or the other when we haven't even tried it out? I plan on reserving my opnion about how good or bad it is until I try it out. I honestly don't really like the idea of health orbs, but it does add dimension to the gameplay. Diablo 2 was a bit of a mindless hack/slash/chug and watch the bodies fall. I'm actually looking forward to not having to worry about keeping a supply up as well as using them. And as far as life leech goes, I never found it reliable enough to trust.
Diablo fans need to boil down what really matters to them most about the Diablo series. For me, it's all about the randomness, of the dungeons, the world, and the drops. I can play Diablo II hundereds of times and the world is always different, the dungeons are different, my gear is different. Only the core quests/towns stay the same, and even that will change in Diablo III! I don't love Diablo because of life leech, or because of health potions.
You can say all you want that life leech involved no strategy in battle...not completely true, but somewhat true (life low, must hit something). But it did involve strategy when picking out what gear to use. Hmm, I need more life leech so I guess I will have to use this ring slot for more life leech... So I guess all im saying is, it may add more strategy in battle, but it takes away some character build strategy (which was my main squeeze in diablo anyways).
I liked life/mana leech, but along with potions, it did severely mitigate the importance of stats like energy. I look at this as a small, positive step towards balancing a stat system that seemed to be pretty broken in DII.
I dont see it requiring any more strategy than something like god of war did, but Id rather have d2 killing speed than god of war anyday; but I think thats being ruined.

I also like one-shotting people with my Railgun - so I just fire my Quake 3 and I'm happy.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
