Ok what do people think about characters being able to ride horses or other creatures. You could allow it for certain set parts of the game or have it exclusive for one character as a power for say a knight character (he could summon it).
Riding the horse (or other creature) would make you faster and you could charge ect but your defence might go down. You could be knocked off the horse and there would be a recovery time where you are vunerable. You could be vunerable against spears ect.
There could also be a turning circle or something when riding a horse which makes it abit harder to manuver in tight spots.
I think this would suit a heavily armored character like a knight or something that is otherwise slow to have the speed of a horse.
Also with respect to the witchdoctor that can summon pets he could summon some sort of creature to ride. That would fit in nicely with his theme. \
Personally i just cant wait until i open up my bag and click a picture of a tiger/horse/whatever and out pops a fully saddled and trained animal just begging for me to ride it around.
But why be happy with jsut a normal one? why not instead reach level 70 and then get one that flies. now that is where the shit is at!
They already said there would be no mounts or riding horses, or horse combat, and that it was one of there final thoughts on the matter for the final released product

If you get personally attacked by letters through the internet its a good thing to always have a box of tissues and a band-aid around.
How 'bout one-use mounts like the one-use merceneries in the gameplay video. Or like one-use condoms (yes there are condoms that can be used multiple times).....
Riding a dragon or some other mythical beast (the badass, not the gay type) while kicking Diablo's ass seems genuine. You kill it's raid-master (Diablo's guard) and ride it yourself. Then the little beastie gets molested by Big D and you fight him in solo mode. Something in those lines.
EDIT: Implement battle mules. Skills: *Deathly whail* and *Stare-down*

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
Rather than the subjugation and wholesome exploitation of mounts and other bestial forms of transportation, what does one think of inadvertent piggybacking? Allow oneself a scene mentally re-created of our intrepid hero within the bowels of a murky dungeon. Whilst slaying demons and other vulgar forms of ravenous creatures room after room, our illustrious champion feels a mighty jolt beneath the gleaming blood stained floor. Alas, what appeared to be blood is in fact prodigious serpentine scales of the likes no mortal had ever witnessed! The gargantuan beast slithers through miles and miles of cavernous rock, indeed a behemoth of a den. Strange creatures start climbing up the sides of the great monster, spurring our hero to action, completely obliterating all within sight, all the while with the leviathan advancing towards an unknown and distant destination. Thus, our hero has but little choice but to move forward, towards the darkened distance, towards what should be its head...
Akin to a rudimentary form of 'Shadow of the Colossus' perhaps, but certainly at a level of suitability and sense of adventure greatly surpassing that of plain mounts.
The single player mode seems more and more like an arcade. This God of War is not to my liking.
Run up to the healing salve and HEAL. KILL ugly monster at end of hall by jumping into ROBO-MULE and using a series of COMBO-buttons unleashing TERROR. You've just entered LEVEL 4.

Oh, and the doom mule was my idea. You saw it here first. Please note that there may be other version of ZE MULE.

Rhino caravan in the Maggot Lair ( Wyrm cave Act2) !!!
I guess players are not enougth pain already...
Im all against it, outdoors at most.
And seriously, riding a horse througth a dungeon full of traps ?
Who mentioned a horse?
It's all about the battle mules. Trained to kill. *Get em' boy*

And why shouldn't a druid for instance chance upon a wolf, charm him with a certain spell (which he could be or not be capable of casting- if not then the wolf simply attacks him) and use him in the next battle sequence?
Or jump upon a griphon barely controlling it, using it for a short period and then plumetting down...
It's just about increasing interactiveness with npcs, enemies, surroundings etc.

I don't really think they will do it, but AoC did have mounted combat. Probably will make diablo a little unbalanced and difficult to control though.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
