I hope blizz does something about jsp before D3 is released. I dont want to try to find some leet item only to find out this dude on jsp wont trade it to me cause his post count is higher then mine LOL. Also its pretty dumb that you can BUY fg from the site with donations....thats a load of crap and makes the economy very difficult to enter and intimidating to new people.
Blizzard doesn't have the right to say how you trade it and what you trade it for. They also keep no records of trades. Since the site and the game are completely separate, there is no way of them monitoring it. And, anyone that does trade for forum gold could just say the in-game trade was free. And lastly, the EULA (which has no legal binding in a court) has no restrictions on trading, or trading standards.
I don't think any action will be needed against jsp. With DiabloIII will come a lot of players new to the world of Sanctuary and even more that have not played since before the popularity of jsp. I think as long as Blizzard creates a way to trade that is at least as easy/popular as jsp, the relatively few hardcore traders left on jsp will come over to the new system.
Personally, I would be all for jsp if it were not for two thing: the fact that the site originated as a site to promote a bot and the fact that you can purchase forum gold with money.
Blizzard could take down JSP by creating forums of their own that do the same thing. They would just drive them out of business.
it would be EZ, bc they actually own the items. They could even give things out and it would be legal.
even easier is that they just need to add some sort of forum currency to their already present Forums...in fact the more i think about it , it just gets easier and easier to do.
You don't neccecerily need to buy the Forum Gold with money, I started using jsp when the ladder started. I had 0 FG, and I did enough mF runs to get a lot of mF gear for my sorc, and enough to make my zon with faith, P Fort, 120-45, ETC. I was up to about 2k FG with spending zero dollars. The only reason I did get into JSP was because it was a lot easier to find what you're looking for, without a doubt.
Well at least those guys are trading among themselves.
Why doesn't anyone stress the fact that there is so many item-selling sites on the internet that sell any amount of godly items for spare change? The same thing will happen with D3, just in much grander proportions. God damn 'we don't want BoP!' kids......

Sure, we don`t want BoP and that means we may buy every single item with real money.
What i`m trully against is the convercion of that D2 forum gold to D3 forum gold. It means that nodays ppl are allready getting gold for D3 exchange. That is allready a HUGE twist in the economy of a game that does not even exist. They will solve this problem in one way or another.
I think that blizzard will make a trade channel just like JSP is set up. Except it'll be in the game, and you'll use Diablo gold as currency instead of Forum Gold.
First of all, lemme get one thing out. This forum idea is actually good for D2 cuz D2 doesn't have a good means of trading. Back then there were trade channels but those aren't exactly practical. However, in a forum it's much easier to find what you're looking for. From what I've read, D3 will have a better method of trading stuff so this d2jsp thing won't be very useful anymore.
Lastly, 5000+ users? Are you kidding me? Let's put this into perspective here. Wow has over 7+ MILLION subscribers. If D3 had even a fraction of that, then what's 5,000 players using forums? It'll have nearly no impact on the D3 economy at all.
it probably wont have an impact seeing how, in order for these people to have an advantage, someone who uses these forums would have to be among the first people to find the rare/unique/set items. Secondly, I don't think that someone who finds a unique will be so willing to trade sometime as a result of not knowing how high quality of a weapon they actually have.

NJaguar is getting money for his forum gold which is spent on Diablo II's shit
And I'm sure blizzard WILL take down this site, because it will be a huge problem for Diablo III.
