Ok so i know all of you are screaming about blizzcon...so i decided to make this thread on which you should guess which class will be announced ...(A CLASS HAS TO BE ANNOUNCED BECAUSE ITS A HUGE WORLDWIDE EVENT) i believe the mage type class will be released because its the most common in fantasy games

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Hmm well... I'd think the mage, then again depending on if the mage (sorc) is another character brought back from D2 they will probably save that for later.
So if the mage is new maybe the mage, if not probable the ranged or supportish type class.
Yep, the mage. I'm almost positive the new archer type will be under a new class (Hunter maybe), otherwise I would say that would be it, which we know they'll hold off for.
So yeah, it'll be the mage class. Get ready to see what cool flashies they got.
*crosses fingers* druid first! who knows though they could reveal 2 or maybe 3! (1 before blizzcon 2 during blizzcon?)
they did say the chars were all playable @ blizz HQ.
Last year some foreign magazine gave us some spoilers about the Terran new units. Maybe we will know what the new class will be even a few weeks before Blizzcon
I don't know what they're going to announce at Blizzcon but I know it's going to surprise everyone though it will probably look similar to some of the ideas proposed here.
I'm hoping for a mage... but i'm hoping for them to be new and unique as opposed to a rehashed "sorceress"... I wouldn't be too surprised/dissapointed if they were more shamany than just an elemental mage. Have like an Earth/Nature area, and stole some Druidy abilities.

im sure mage but im going to make it even closer. vijeri(or however you spell it). i mean diablo 1 sorcerer diablo 2 sorceress i mean ya there are a bunch of different mage clans in the diablo lore. but vijeri seems to be the most powerful of spells.
next i would say rouge or amazon. we need a range class. and spells to me dont count as ranged. the reason possablly rouge or amazon. cause i dont see alot of skills with the rouge. as there are with the amazon.
and finnally i would say warrior, paladin, fighter he would use skills cause we need a close quarters fighter. (besides barb)

I wouldn't like that, The Witch Doctor already somewhat embodies the spirit of nature and death or if you prefer the dark side of nature (e.g. undead pets and locust). He's like a dark shaman.
I think they still haven't fully explore the arcane side of mages in Diablo, maybe this time he/she could be more polyvalent and control every school of magic particularly arcane (but not poison of course). There's something dark and eerie about them that they barely touched in Diablo 2 and that could make Diablo 3 really awesome.
1) A magic based class
2) Supportive type class
3) Range based class
But what form and shape they will take, I have no idea. One can only hope for what they want. ;o
I won't be surprised if there's another melee based class. I mean the Barbarian can't be the only one, could he?
I'm gonna say 2 classes will be unveiled. I think we'll see the paladin return and we'll see the ranged Amazon class from Diablo II appear again with the possibilty of being called a Rogue (obviously the ranged from Diablo classic), Hunter, or Ranger.
I wouldn't be too disappointed if they just went more in depth with the current classes, and showed full skill tree's, how they see them working/interacting etc.

The other 3 classes have to be completely unique from each other and yet still capable of defeating enemies with their own strategy (this is why the necro was replaced with the witch doc as both use summons to assist)
I can however think of 4 types of hero currently unused but we know only 3 more hero types will be created??? The 4 remaining stereotypes I can think of are:
Dedicated Spellcaster (Mage / Wizard type) Healer (Priest / Holy type) Ranged (Hunter / Rogue type) Stealthy (Assassin / Thief type)
Hmmmm... My guess would be Spellcaster, Healer, and Ranged types... I think they will leave the Stealth class for the expansion

I don't honestly see how Diablo could ever fit a healer specialist....
I think/hope that it will be a melee caster hybrid. Barb is pure melee, mage type caster is pure caster... Then have a warrior mage type thing. Has some devastating spells and devastating melee... but it would need a unique theme like an evil knight (Death Knight?) or holy crusader (Paladin)...
Stealthy/assassin type will most likely be incorporated into the ranger class, giving them traps. combo abilities etc rather than an ALL bow or ALL Javalins... and some passive abilities.

No healer/tank specialists... this is not wow... each character can deal damage and handle themselves.... jesus... people just put blinders on when they want a game to go into the shitter and be like f'in wow...
anyways... I would say a ranger class... can be either male/female.... uses bows/crossbows and can be melee specializing in smaller fast weapons like an assassin (yes... aragone in LotR was a ranger and he used a long sword... but I believe smaller weapons are more fitting to the percieved "ranger class" for diablo)

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
I agree. They know we expect a mage type class and they will probably pop that one out next to reveal more magic based items. If it is a mage class, I do expect it to be vastly different than the sorceress. If the mage is very similar to the sorc, they'd probably reveal a different class. It makes sense in my crazy little world some how.

I'm betting on a Holy Archer Class

Also wouldn't mind seeing if you can conjure up anything BIG. Maybe like a golem for the WD. I dunno, but it makes me excited.
Over confidence is the rot.
