Sorry,I'll look for something better. At least it's dark blue. When I first joined I had a thing for kirby that's why my name is kurby, and all my text was bright pink-purple. Everyone said OMG GTFO MY EYES HURT.
On topic.... rune words was a great system in Diablo 2 L.O.D. You felt a great sense of finality once you made your full build of super-attack barbarian with fortitude, breath of the dying, and what not.
Problem is I assume your using the light color scheme for the forums, because with the dark UI its extremely hard to read, and most people use the dark I believe since its default.
But I can't help but feel that I won't really care about the little art "issues" I may have with the dungeons weird ambiance or giant armors once I start to experience the gameplay.
I love the new style. I didn't much like the horrible darkness to the old diablos, because it was hard to see at times. The new creaminess/non-darkness is superb. The new diablo is going to be fine;it's much too addicting to not play it either way.
Yeah, we should listen to this guy's take on art and style. Hahaha

Blizzard make fantastic games, I still to this day play D2, SC1 and WC3 because they have phenomenal playability.
The graphics they have come up with are breathtaking and the physics are going to be insanely lifelike but with all blizzard games, it’s not about the graphics… it’s about the epic gameplay they always manage to create.
People who cling to the minority and take pot-shots at blizzard for their art direction obviously have not experienced the unblemished track record of blizzard games… Diablo III will be unbelievable, let Blizzard do their job...

Blizzard has a blemished track record, actually. The over all quality of TBC is a pretty good reason to worry.
My work has changed it's deadlines so I have been busy all day. Will try post something tonight though.
**For the record. I too have always been pleased with blizzard's work (and I am not shooting them down at all. Quite the reverse actually. I am just sharing a thought that I was thinking). Regardless if they make it more gothic or keep it the same I will still play the game.**
Some of blizzard's games have been good. But I've never been for the warcraft 1-3. I don't much like age of empire-like games. I've been all for diablo since it first came out, and since I'm only fifteen that would be like....since I was little bitty.

I'm falling apart inside; watching you mourn over my death.
I have made another attempt albeit a rushed one. (got lots of work ganging up on me)
I tried not to make it all "grey" as per comments I recieved. I tried to give it a more indoors feeling (either cave of dark mansion as I am not sure where these stairs are). I also tried not to darken or boost contrast but a little did happen.
I just used the source of lighting present to give it a different colour (not grey but more yellow tinted from the candles).
Now this was rushed, so yes, there will be certain objects that will look weird because of colour alteration. My main focus were the stairs and the general colour feel, not anything in particular.
Please tell me your opinions (remembering that these stairs are indoors or in a cave).
Tell me any opinions and I will try accommodate for all (to see if it can be done).
P.S I must admit that I myself do not like this one that much. However I will try harder next time.
I think we should wait for the demo and acutally PLAY it in order to get the feel of how they are trying to use the color scheme. I will with hold judgement until then.
I just want the people who are vocal about their dislike about D3's colors and art direction to ask themselves this :
Blizzard is huge, and they have a rabid fan base across all of their major franchises. They also listen much more to fans and reach out to them more than other companies. Because of these combined traits Blizzard gets a lot more intense criticism and scrutiny on their new products than most companies. So I wonder if the people that are complaining about things like the look of D3 ever stop to realize that they are part of a massive, doomsaying knee-jerk reaction to a new Blizzard product. Ask yourself: Am I jumping to dramatic conclusions and being too hard on Blizzard, or am I jumping on a bandwagon of complainers who seem to enjoy predicting that Blizz will finally release a terrible game?
With D3 and any new IP Blizz announces you guys know that there will be people like you claiming that the end is near for Blizzard. That they have finally ruined a franchise, or that they have finally left fans in the dust.
Such is the plight of a popular company that listens so much to it's fans and makes special gestures to stay in touch with them. They will have dramatic complainers who want to cry about everything and no amount of reasoning or proof will satisfy them.
I'm sure that blizzard is only half listening to the fans now because of certain fagots who decide to bitch and moan about something as trivial as diablo III not being gritty ,grungy , and horribly dark. Instead, blizzard has now went into hiding inside of Mount Everest to slit their wrists in peace and quiet. Stupid ''trolls'' look what you have done.

For some Blizzard already ruined a franchise, just take a look at WoW, for many fans of the old Warcraft series WoW is a disgrace. After the dust has settled and D3 looks like this and then D4 or some Diablo MMO looks like a cartoon fairyland you will be saying "see they did no wrong, heaps of people play it, they haven't ruined anything", but by then the franchise will have completely changed and the old fans will be long gone replaced by a new generation of WoW kids.
Looks very gray and bland. Did you have fun with that sponge and burn tool in photoshop? It doesn't give the dungeon a feel to it either because it's all monochromatic. Would you like to see that dungeon all mundane and boring as you traverse and delve deeper and deeper? People argue the green lighting is too much, but here you basically use the sponge tool to desaturate the image as if technicolor was never invented.
nah i would rather it greeeeeen everywhere!
come on, its absolutely the same thing with the diference on the ONLY one color choice
its like all green or all gray
personaly i would go for the immersive/realistic way

Might as well make it BOLD too.
