Since the Art Director is gone maybe we have enough time to convince the Diablo 3 team to make the game more interactive, I've played Diablo 1&2 the second they first came out, and they are great games, I even love the battle.net chatrooms it's an aspect that other online games don't have, but I just hope Diablo 3 has more interactivity than the previous two, I know it will not be an MMORPG, but if it were possible to see other players in a capitol city similar to Guild Wars, this would be very cool, similar to the function of the chatroom but in a city, leaving would remain the same in a certain numbered party, but I just wanted to throw that idea in there, I don't think this would be too difficult to accomplish and it also wouldn't really effect lag wise gameplay or the servers as it would be just a place to hang out, my dream version of Diablo would be fully MMORPG map I only hope this happens for Diablo 4, I'm a fan of the Diablo series, and I'm not a fan of WoW, that game is simply too cartoony for me.
which game did better... d2 or guildwars?... im pretty sure blizz knows what they are doing :).... ill admit as long as its nothing like oblivion we aer set lol
I thought about this before and thought it was a good idea. After pondering it a while longer I realized it really wouldn't work and it would take away from the action of what is supposed to be an Action RPG. "Just hanging out" isn't really what Diablo is all about. Instead I'd just suggest an improved chat area with all the necessary options along with tabs or areas for an AH or a public listing with search options for trading purposes. This is kinda getting away from topic slightly but improved friends list and chatting would be nice as well.

You must find the courage to step through this gate...
I like it. It wouldn't just serve for hanging out but trading would be way more efficient, people could set up little sale stands like in Lineage 2/RO and have an auction house or something.

You could obviously choose not to hang out in this instanced city.

This is a good idea, trading, who wouldn't go to this trade center, you can't exactly trade in a chat room, but this trade capitol is exactly the type of thing I would like to see, also I'm sure tons of players would go there just to show off their full set of whatever the heck is the best armor, those that mock this idea, you know if it existed they would be the biggest fans of this city, you all know how hard it is to trade something, just open diablo 2, you have to start you own game, name it after whatever your selling, and wait 10 minutes, only a few people show up and leave, and you end up having to join someone else's more popular trade game, this trade land is exactly what Diablo III needs, I don't know if the Diablo 3 Team has already considered this or not, but it does appear that the online aspects will vary a bit from the previous two Diablos from this statement...
Experience the intensity of multiplayer Diablo III over an all-new, wickedly enhanced Battle.net platform with numerous enhancements to make connecting with your friends easier, and cooperative gameplay more fun.
My version of an 'all-new wickedly enhanced Battle.net platform with numerous enhancements' would include this trade-city, or possibly trade-cities, maybe they would need 10, with a maximum of x number of users.
