Sorry if it wasn't obvious, I was referring to a PvP environment - not all of us enjoy farming loot 24/7.
I was not referring to loot farming either. I was referring to co-operative PvM, and basic all round enjoyment of the game.
Kind of hard to refer to PvP in that instance since it says distinguishing a WD from a Zombie. One would assume they are speaking of PvM or just regular old playing the game.
Not that PvP while surrounded by monsters is impossible. Just seldom practiced in a large capacity.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I would predict blizzard will stick with 8. I would be happy with that but I would personally prefer a max of 6.
A big aspect to the game is that minions grow stronger as each player joins the game. As each player joins the game each minion has increased experience and a better drop percentage as well as being more difficult to kill.
I like the way that worked and I wouldn't want to see that change. Having games grow larger than 8 creates a whole lot of balancing issues and personally I would hate to see that my chances of getting a good item playing solo is like 1 in a billion when in a game of 20 its like 1 in 100,000. Let's keep the game size small and the reward possibiliies in reach even when soloing.
As for you pvpers - I understand your complaints, but I would hate to see a basic principle of diablo to change due to pvp. My only suggestion to blizzard is NOT to change the main concept of the game for pvpers but create a seperate server(s) for people to join and pvp to their hearts content. Maybe with a ranking system and possibly rewards - however the rewards should be like title - they should shy away from items rewards that impact the game itself. Also, I would suggest NOT incorporating this in the original release but in the expansion that would come soon after. We have already been waiting long enough for the game - adding any additional wait just for pvp would be horrible.

you mean you dont want a game based primarily around pvp? you must not like wow ;p
I agree, pvp is to be an additional element to games, not the main focus. A good game should be a strong game when played solo, with others, AND against others.
Due to WoW - Im willing to bet PvP will have a bigger influence this time around on D3. I bet we'll see a compromise. Something like "arena games" would be interesting - where maybe more than 8-10 people are allowed in. A huge gladiator type coliseum would be awesome.
As of now a 4 player game just isn't ideal for setting up organized dueling games. (Which is all D2 really had as far a PVP goes, not counting PK which was so minimal anyways)
Well this could all be solved by putting a higher cap to the game, but give you the ability to customize.
You don't want 8-10 people, just put it lower. No problem.
I couldn't see that being a major issue. Unless somebody was actually too lazy to change the cap.... Which is ridiculous.
8 is perfecto

Over confidence is the rot.
Try harder.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
