Ok, so i will express my point of view about this. (i will write in point to make it clear and easier to reply, if sb is willing).
1. I think i don't like it, but i need to play to tell you ^^ SO i'm gonna write only from what i think. 2. I can't imagine how it can work. Why? Well, let's take such a situation :
There is 50 monsters around you, you kill them one by one, they drop potions, you take it etc. And here come the time when there are 3 monsters left. You have 1/500 of life. You took every potion they dropped. You have 0 mana. How will you kill them? Assuming that they are quicker than you are, so you can't wait for the mana is restored. You can't buy from vendors. The only chance you have is to portal to town and wait when your health is restored? (coz i suppose it slowly will). I hope i'm only joking, so you guy pls explain to me.
3. Potions have one adventage as well, which is? Well, sometimes you FORGOT to take a bottle, and you died during the battle or you were running out of life and then they killed you (you had a lot of time to take a bottle, but you forgot, and you attacked the enemy with almost no life). And here, you will rather not forget to take it when sb drops it, coz from the beggining you will be used to collect every of them only when you see it. So it will be easier not to die coz of your stupidity. It might seem adventage over potions, but not for me. I think that for your mistakes, you should pay So what do you think about it?
4. It's H&S game, i should depend on my agility, not fuc*ing luck. When i had 2 health potions i knew that if i screw up, i die. Some very stong guy from the mob will hit me and i'm not fast enough to drink a bottle, i die, it was your reflex. I loved when i fought with so strong guy that he needed 2 hits to kill me. It was fascinating and you were scary to come close coz you weren't sure if you handle to click on health potion fast enough. And here? How the fight against the boss will look like, if i don't have a potion? I don't get it. Will there always be some mob around the boss to make me find my potion? I liked solo fights. I don't want kill somebody only to get potion. I liked when i didn't have to kill anybody, i just could run around them and fight the boss. And now how will it look like? Sb knows?
5. Tell me the adventages over the potions pls, i can't notice them
cheerio
Alright here you go! My thoughts on the mater.
2. Potions will drop off monsters and can be used sparingly in emergency situations like what you described above.
3. Well the same way you die by forgetting to take a pot you can die by forgetting to get an orb. Players who are careless will always find themselves in situations where they are not paying attention to their health and die.
4. I believe its already been mentioned by Blizzard that monsters and bosses aren't going to be 1-2 shotting players in D3. It's already been stated that since there will be no potion spamming in D3 having monsters that can 1 shot you is no longer an option. Remember those damned souls in act5 of D2? My point is this, I would rather use my skills and strategy to stay alive and not rely on potion spamming, and luck. I mean there were instances in D2 where you could get one shotted out of nowhere and had no chance of doing anything about it. Luck does not equal strategy or fun for that matter.
There will still be potions that can be used if no orbs are available, but you have to use them sparingly and will only drop off mobs. I personally never liked potion spamming and am happy as hell that it won't be back. Now I can spam different skills instead of potions to save my ass, THANK GOD!
Daemaro, they said that potions are still going to be in but it will be more of a situational thing rather than spamming. If you are low on health and there are no orbs? Potion would fit in there quite nicely. Since potions will not be spammed they can also heal a lot more health, and possibly heal it more quickly, and the orbs allow mobs and bosses to not just 1-2 shot the character. It will be fun to have monsters that are tactical rather than just having all the monsters use X move till you die, like the monsters that smashed their club into the ground to do more damage in the gameplay video.
So we took the opportunity to ask Wilson about some of the design changes with Diablo III, particularly with the removal of potions and the slotted inventory system. Players of the first two games will remember how much combat revolved around having a sufficient supply of potions at the ready to refill health. Well, that's not how it's going to work in this game; there are no health potions to be purchased at vendors.
So if that article is right you wont be able to BUY potions but you can still loot them and stock up I suppose.
Well i think it douse not matter ware these blobs pop up but they should pop up quite often.
I cant say for sure that i will miss potions but thy worked pretty good especially Full Rejuvenation ones.
I think there will be patch 1.01 one month after D3 is "on line".
One thigh to i cant see blue blobs popping?
What will WD do when manna goes = 0, maybe Warmth passive skill or something like that.
For the love of god, please learn how to spell. Please.
When you say "douse" instead of "does", there's something seriously wrong. Seek help.

It may still be fun, but it will be World of Diablo.
If that article is true, that potions can only be found and not bought I think it will make the game more interesting and immersive - it'll keep you on an edge, I kind of like that. Either way, LL/ML Whirlwind for the win, who needs potions?
Lets keep some sense of realism to the game where an AXE actually does damage you and we really on the great potions to heal us. instead of blood blobs that come outta God knows where....
you talking that the blood blob come out of no where then you haven't been paying attention when you played D2.
Example: your fighting a Quill Rat and once you killed it it drops gold and a sword. Now how in hell did that Quill Rat have a sword and gold on it
The health globes are there to make the game more challenging. If the game was more realistic then you won't be able to pick up loot when you kill your enemy except if they are wielding that item.

My life is like a dragon, first praised, then hated, now lost.

Finally, some perspective.
It's a game, let the designers handle the game mechanics.
I think doing away with potion spamming will add to the game, as developers have stated, for the exact reasons they have stated. However, I do feel the implementation of health globes is far from what it could be and very likely very different than the final implementation considering we are likely more than a year from launch.
If I were a developer, in the beginning of the game there would be some sort of quest that earns our adventurer some sort of item that can reap the life essence of the enemies he slays, or some similar fantasy language. I am fairly certain that Blizzard will do something like this rather than just having mysterious red orbs that heal you get pooped out of enemies randomly. Then again there are those axe carrying quill rats, so who knows.
I would also be very surprised if the orbs look anything like they do at the moment. There is a whole lot of development time left.
I totally agree. Orbs are so...confusing. What they are? And why are they levitating? Of what material are they made? If they could look like a potion... Then it makes sense, but they should look different from inventory potions. Levitating orbs are so arcadish, like those levitating coins or diamonds....you know! And btw I agree with new graphic design, new class, colors....but these orbs - at least they could look logical, d3 is not a pacman or rayman.
Who cares... they are floating orbs in that fall from enemies. Would you like to know if the orb had a family before it came out the monsters anus? Maybe it has children that went to college and it never got to see them graduate because YOU just had to have your precious life! Thanks you you some lonely small orbs will never get to know what it is like to have grandparents! All of this because you were one selfish bastard who needed LIFE!!! LIFE!!!!!!
Do you really need a backstory to a game mechanic to enjoy it?
Why don't you wear pants in Diablo 2? Why do monsters carry potions with them but never seem to use themselves? Why does it look like a monster has no backpack but still carries vast amounts of items... did it eat them? Why are there a shitload of monsters and yet there are only 2 rogues guarding the camp? Or a few pikement at Lut Gholein? It seems pretty damn easy for the monsters to overtake the cities with so few guards. Howcome the Barbarians are able to take many demons on at one time but yet five of them get captured in a stick fort and cant get out..? How come a town portal magically appears after you kill andy without you casting it? Why does the monastary in both D1 and D2 have so many levels... and for what purpose are they made like a maze? How come when I keep killing Diablo he keeps coming back if i make a new battle.net room!? Why was the wander right outside the kurast docks and still left people living there!? Why was my character able to drink 16 potions in 2 seconds? How come the liquid healed every single wound I had? Why did my character never catch on fire but got poisoned and frozen?
There are many unanswered mechanics and plot holes in the diablo series that some people either seem to forget about or never cared in the first place... so why does every care about something as trivial as a health orb. It drops from a mob and gives you life.... there nuff said. Why do you insist in needing more information and a purpose. Why not just accept that its there and get over it? Diablo has never been logical!!!! It is a game where a soceress can pull a frozen orb out of her ass and you kill the lord of hell! To hell with logical, give me fantastical!

There's a difference between accepting what's fictional and what is consistent. Obviously we all accept that a Sorceress can pull a frozen orb out of her ass.
The argument about the health orbs is more of an aesthetic one and partially a gameplay one. And what you're basically doing is trolling. You're telling people that because you have all these other unanswered questions yourself, and that you perceive all those loose ends as illogical, that we therefor shouldn't even be discussing things like health orbs because it's not even logical that you could drink 16 potions in five seconds or whatever.
Sure, there are some ridiculous and facetious arguments being made. But nevertheless, people are here to discuss their ideas. None of what you said is actually a good reason why people shouldn't discuss such things.
What would make it look logical? If they changed the visual aesthetics of the orb, it would still float and fall out of mobs after you've slain them. We already saw this happen in D2 except with potions. It's just that orbs don't require you to open your inventory/press 1-4 to heal yourself.
I think the orb system (as the potion system) its just a game mechanic. Is the kind of thing that are there in the GAME but do NOT existe in the game reality. You will never see someone finding a Halberd after kill a insect swarm, drinking waterfalls of potions or getting orbs from enemies body in a cynematic or even metion of those things in the game lore, novel and such.
People have to understand that games like diablo are not movies or simulators.
Ity`s like ask yourself why in act 6, a demon minion like those suicide guys is much stronger then a Lesser Evil like Andariel and Duriel. The answer is:
Because the game have a level system. Level system is the kind of thing that exist for those one that are playing the game but for the game chartacters don`t.
All those thing are beyond fiction or concept. They are nor but numbers to make the game more fun to play.
Did any of you thing whats goona happen in PVP with all this health blob happening ?
Will they keep unlimited pots allowed in PVP ?
OR is there goona be a PVP arena ?
OR you hunt for monsters along with PVP so your chances of the monster dropping the health blob increase but what if som1 else takes it ?

embrace change
There are potions in the game they just don't want them to be spammed. Health Globes will not drop like they did in the 20 min demo.
Well I was talking about this article.

So if that article is right you wont be able to BUY potions but you can still loot them and stock up I suppose.
Hmm that is interesting. I hope that isn't true...
Well since you won't be using potions all the time, and they are only intended to be used in emergency's not being able to buy them seems reasonable.
