You all know what it's like to hit 25 then go on a slew of baal runs, 1 of them killing baal and getting the quest, etc. Well now in order to find games you can actually do, you have to create a character in normal difficulty, check which games are up, and then quickly switch characters to hopefully jump into that game that you were interested in. Then if you hit Hell difficulty but aren't yet ready to proceed into hell (especially if you play a hardcore character) and you're too low of a level, you're kinda stuck as you now need to make a character and get them to Nightmare difficulty to see which games are there - a very annoying and frustrating issue that's been there since the release of D2. My solution to the issue:
As you can see in this version, you've got an option to click different check boxes/radio buttons and see which games you'll be able to view as join-able. This way your high level character can see which games are available to you, regardless of difficulty. The boxes/radio buttons will appear for your character based on which difficulties are currently available (they'll be greyed out or just not even there for difficulties that you're not able to access). You'd be able to click on Difficulty at the top of the games selection window and it'd filter ascending or descending for difficulty levels.
Another option would be a tabbed view instead:
Clicking on the tab, you'll be able to see which games are available per difficulty without having to make additional characters. It'd be tabbed akin to the WP list in D2 - acts only showing up when you're able to access them - which would be translated to Difficulties.
All in all these are just 2 tweaks to 2 major annoyances that I've had since starting to play D2. Hopefully these can be remedied in D3 with the new Battle.net.
Good ideas. There should be a lot more options for game filtering/tagging. Maybe you could tag what act you'll be playing, purpose (trading, questing, pvp, etc).

i dont think bots to camp for free games will become anything near trendy.
but a search and filter would really help. and if blizzard goes with practically the same bnet interface, then i expect at least a filter feature to be there.

There could also be more options when creating games that will help others to choose wether to join or not.
Things like:
Questing
Exp
Boss
Act 1/2/3/4
So when creating game you could put X to these check boxes and the info would be displayed for the one who is looking for games. Also the filtering could work with these so it wouldn't be only a word search.
The interface for joining games always drove me nuts. The idea of filtering is one I've pondered for a long time, and I also wondered what reasons Blizzard may have had for never implementing filters. This is one idea that really makes good sense and I hope they pay heed to it for bnet 2.0. Glad you brought it up!

They can add level restriction AND tabbed games view, always useful to see normal games sometime, so yea, nice idea.
Like "Baal" "Free" or "Act 1"
I thought that too, but just now I realized something.
If you could search for "free" games.
Wouldn't there eventually be bots that come into games labeled "free" and pick things up and leave?
Why would they want crappy items
Don't tag your tag free, make description free but say it in another way.
I found some pretty good free games, not extraordinary but not too bad either.
Runes, gems, sigon pieces, some uniques, etc etc.
