Ok guys so here it is, I have been posting on the thread -Is Imperius the true threat to sanctuary?- Basically the whole thread you will see, was about the discussion of the possibilities of the angel shown in the D3 artwork with the symbol resembeling a sword on his chest being Imperius. The second thing that was really questioned was what did Mr. Knaak mean by upturned sword when he described Imperius in the book? So to try and help with these two very important topics I chose to do something a little out of the ordinary, I wrote Mr. Knaak to get to the bottom of this. Here is what I said On Jul 23, 2008, at 10:43 PM, Eric wrote:
Hello Mr. Knaak, I am a member of www.diablofans.com...recently there has been a huge discussion having to do with what exactly you ment when you described Imperius' upturned sword on his chest. I am writing to you to try to get to the bottom of how the sword should be shown on his chest. If the sword is upturned like you had wrote, should blade be pointing towards Imperius' head or should it be pointing towards his legs? Please get back to me on this there is a huge thread on this topic and I want to lay it to rest. thanks!
Well needless to say most thought he wouldn't respond but guess what guys he did, and here is what he had to say.
Hi, Eric -
"Thanks for your interest. There are two distinct and, imho, contradictory definitions for 'upturned'. In this case, I went with the definition that refers to an object turned business end up, such as 'an upturned nose'. This means the point of the sword would be toward the head. Based on conversations with Blizzard in the past, they see it the same way."
I hope that helps!

So guys as you can see from this There are two things now to be concluded, either Blizzard messed up on the design of Imperius or that angel is not Imperius. If you are wondering why I did not post this on the thread by which the topics originated it is because I felt this was very, very, important and it deserved it's own distinction as a thread.
That is indeed very important... hmmm. Very odd...
Well I still can't think of who else the angel would be... so they either messed up the design or it's a angel we're completely not thinking of/don't know of.
yesssss, yesss...my sinister plot is falling right into place... the masters of the damned will be pleased to see this conclusion...*scurries away snickering evilly*

Nice, you already know, I didn't expect him to answer since you basically pointed out that it was related to the artwork so it might reveal some of the plot. I guess since his choice was blade point in the sky it doesn't really reveal any of the plot.
Unless Blizzard sucks at drawing, thats not Imperius. Its obviously not Tyrael so I'm not sure who it could be.
What is so important about whether that angel is Imperius or not? Did I miss something?
Well what is important about it is the fact that a lot of people were thinking that the angel that was shown in the artwork besides Tyrael was Imperius...a lot of people thought it was him because he had a symbol representing a sword on it...but after I wrote to Mr. Knaak...he said the blade should be pointing towards the head of imperius and you can clearly see that if that symbol is a sword, then it's blade is clearly facing down...hence it is either not Imperius or Blizz messed up on the artwork and the resaon it is important to know if it is him or not is because a lot of people including that Official specualtor fellow who wrote about D3's new plot thought the angel was Imperius. Hence the possibilitie of it not being him really leaves you to question who is the angel then?

Guys while it is humerous to joke about spamming him, I ask please don't, the guy was kind enough to answer a really good question already...I don't think we should bother him, or abuse the privelege you know?.....So for my sake please don't give the guy a hard time.
