The ending sentance states that they are probably going to put a n emergancy healing role in the game does this mean that we will have a char that has a healing tree like a paladin but like more healer then somethings i dont know just throwing it out there ???

On the side of potions, they still exist, but they're likely to be on a cooldown of some type. They'll also likely restore health based on a percentage that's relative to your character. They may heal an instant amount, they may be the old over time type system. They're probably going to be filling an emergency-heal role more than anything though.
the whole healing role thing has been discussed constantly, and from the looks of things there will be no character with a whole tree revolved around healing. At the most two or three skills, but blizzard said every class has to be just as useful in singleplay as in multiplay. I think they were referring to the potions. Context clues are very useful and should always be applied when dealing with pronouns
in WoW lots of people played healer/dps, i dont see why that hurts. in games sometimes there just a last resort for healing like you need one, so its cool that u can switch back and forth between healing and dps. its up to the user mainly, some ppl play combat, others prefer to support

I doubt that the OP even read the Title of the thread, he just saw a blizz logo went to check bashiok's post, and got a half assed understanding of what was being said.

If they have potions and those things that heal you that drop off enemies in the game (seen in gameplay video) what would be the point of a healing class? I think that we can be 100% sure that there won't be a healing class or a class with a healing tree...not only would it be boring, but in single player it'd be ridiculous.

The BEST part about Diablo 2 was that you didn't have to depend on another player (often an utter idiot) for such a critical resource as healing. Life leech/potions. If you need a god damn healer strapped to your back to do jack shit like in WoW, I think I'll cry

Personally, I don't think a healing skill tree is going to do any harm. The paladin has 2 support tress (auras) and it wasn't like people couldn't live without them. The healing tree may be full of spells that the healer can use on himself as well as on others.
They are adding health orbs so you have to kill monsters to regain health, they are adding cooldown to potions. Adding an Healer would screw up all the logic behind health orbs.

I really don't think we need a whole healing tree at all.

Not to mention the rule of thumb for games is, if you can heal, you're expected to.
So I don't want to play a class that is perfectly able to kill things like everyone else but I'm expected to heal.
