Or no emotes, that sounds good to me. I don't want to walk into town to see a bunch of people named "xxxDeAtHmEtAlxxx" spamming headbang emote. *Shudder*
Its not a MMO. Its not a super social RPG of some kind. Its a hack and slash based around small parties. It doesn't fit in the theme. Why would you go through all the trouble then add a bunch of dancing and random, odd emotes? Its not a game that needs them, especially since a large portion of the game is singleplayer.
No, I don't think there will be emotes in Diablo 3. No, I don't think there should be emotes in Diablo 3. Its not that style of game, and by style I don't meen dark and gothic, I meen its not the large, social based game where you hang out in towns and hang around waiting for someone/something. You run, you kill, you repeat.
/meh, well they're going for something closer to an mmorpg. i know it doesn't fit into the current diablo style, but it may be in the evolved one
and about the rping thing...i use it for rping, and as such i know TONS of others that do, too. Ever since boss runs became the actual object of the game that's been the only point for most of the people i know to play. People calm down, I'm not saying they should be, but I want to know what emotes people would want if there would be any. It's purely hypothetical
I want a lot of emotes. I don't care what genre of game they are from they are cool and i lvoed them in wow. One of my favorite wow moments was being level 5 or something, going to ogrimmar and just watching in aw, and then some fat cow came up to me and asked me to dance. i was like wtf? and then it stood up and started doing the cow dance! and then i was REALLY like "WTF?!?!" then i was showed how to dance, so i did. then about 10 people gathered round in the evening of ogrimmar and danced next to the fire. it was a lot of fun.emotes own

I totally agree No Emotes but i have to disagree with the fact you said its not an mmo i mean it is exactly that an mmorpg its gunna have a hige amoount of players and we can all interact with eachother i think thats an mmo no insult intended im just saying

How do you use it for RPing? I have little expierence with RPing, but I could only see you standing in Act 2 typing !*sits down next to (player name) in tavern*.
:offtopic:I don't want them to go more into an MMO style, that means that they are looking to make it into an MMO, which I think that Diablo should stay away from, because it's already and RPG, no reason to change it from hack and slash. They did that with WC, WC3 had "heroes" and they could level and were kinda like independant characters, then they came out with WoW. Who knows their intentions with SC:G, wheter it was to just makea good game or to make LOADS of cash (like Halo) or to be a gateway to something else, but the good thing is that atleast it wasn't named SC2, and now there's a real SC2. (Which they should have done before SC:G, IMO):offtopic:

Leave out the damn dances.. who the feck wants to dance and be happy when demosn are all around you?
You could have /sharpen the character starts to sharp their weapons
/meditate caster class starts to meditate
/pray character would kneel and pray for help against demons
/wipe character would wipe his weapons clean from blood
Something realistic that could would fit to diablo.
Some of these could be the afk animations too.. when you are long enough afk characer would start to meditate or sharpen blade.
I wasn't talking about emotes in between those two little yellow guys... I was just (in my world at least) bitching about how they are ruining all my favorite games.
And the quoting of you wasn't in this thread, so I don't know why I brought it up...

What emotes do you want to see?
Keep it simple with /dance,
or give it some variety with /mamba, /salsa, /headbang, and /balet?
keep it one-character only,
or invite your friends to a /slowdance, /bellybump, or /highfive?
class only emotes?
gender only?
Do you want to see your weapon during the emote,
or have it disappear mysteriously?
Theres nothing wrong with having options.
you do a slow shake of the head to emphasize, tisk tisk...why would you go and do that.
after you kill a noobie in pvp that the face to make.
