These scumbags will bot every fucking season and after ban, they get an new account and go back to botting, god i wish blizz would just blacklist their debit/credit cards to keep em away from the game a bit longer
Ah yes, the old "Oh no, my credit card is blacklisted, I can't possibly use another one" strategy. I'm really glad botters were banned, but banning credit cards doesn't do anything. Especially because Blizzard allows payments from other sources.
Nobody's
posting anything on the THUD forums but I'll let you know when I get
home from work if I'm banned and/or the length of time of it.
Not a very intelligent answer...
What?
Admitting I use THUD? I've already done so in previous threads (whether they're still alive and searchable is another question). I've zero shame about it. I highly doubt Bliz cares (and honestly nobody who uses just THUD has reported a ban yet, the THUD forums even have threads asking if anyone has been banned and the response so far is zero.
I'm pretty sure I've never seen anything in the ToS, EULA, or a blue post stating that the numlock auto casting was illegal.
Isn't the automatic way of game play (auto casting, macros) bannable ? Binding a key to do 2345243 skills is legal?
Well, if that is legal, then there is huge gap into bannable policies apart from the obvious (bots, 3rd party progs)
when promoting gameplay where you need to click a key every 0.3 sec non-stop it would be stupid to ban macro users just for binding an autohotkey to a certain skill. (e.g in-geom / explosive blast )
I even play without it in grifts but farming rifts with my wizard would be just stupid to spam that button for hours. it's not even an unfair advantage. it just makes life easier.
probably even that is not allowed but tbh it's so much more important to ban botters with unfair advantages. cus that is what destroys the game and not simple small things which could as well be promoted as a feature in a future patch

When you get banned Blizzard tells you to buy new key if you want to play again. Dont even need new account, just do it on same =D
I would just prefer to let them pay again, put all these thousands of hours in and then ban them before the end of the season. gg
I agree, especially with the hard bans going in just before the end of season. The deterrent measured in the ban may be laughable to the culprit but I don't mind them footing their own money to play again in the case of a permaban. I only wish that the banning occurred more regularly so as to eventually chip away at that blasé attitude like MeSlayYouKK emphasized. And perhaps it does? It just doesn't feel that way.

So I'm rank 1 paragon NA now at 3130 by playing 16 hours a day on average. Got Rank #1 4 player and 2 of my team got banned so I guess my 4p clear should be removed? It's not the players job to be the botting police lol. I'm here to play at a high lvl, push leaderboards, and have fun. I hate to speak the truth but you guys think this ban wave fixes the game are wrong. The root problem is the paragon system giving too much bonus damage to anyone who can and is willing to play all day, everyday. If anything botting makes the game better. You should be able to play this game 6-8 hours a day and not feel like you are at a huge handicap because you are doing 70% less damage than the top paragon players. Not only does this make people feel like they can't compete but it also splits the player base where groups of people only play with others around the same paragon lvl for efficiency reasons. Anyways have fun with your little witch hunt and feel free to nerd rage at my post = D
It's good to see this and it's very funny. You know most of them don't care it's why they do it. Their account will get banned buy a new one do it again. But really what's the point in doing it all over again like Gaby does every season. You know the other funny thing is to listen to them all cry when it happens it's not like you really did all the work just suck it up and and deal with what you did and that fact that you got caught. I know I know that you really wanted to put on your job resume that you were on the D3 leader boards in the top 10 but now you can't because it really didn't count no more evidence of that. They should also post all the names of the people that got banned just for fun. Because you didn't really care anyway if you got caught right? But I say let's ban the paragon system and maybe we will get somewhere lol JK...but really that's why people bot in the first place.
So I'm rank 1 paragon NA now at 3130 by playing 16 hours a day on average. Got Rank #1 4 player and 2 of my team got banned so I guess my 4p clear should be removed?
Absolutely. Reasons have been outlined in this thread shortly after the post that incited you to give such a response. Continue on for further explanation.
It's not the players job to be the botting police lol.
First off: I could be wrong but I don't think anyone was implying it was a responsibility, however you can refer to what Bagstone stated earlier about top players running in groups. I absolutely agree what he had to say. Secondly: When someone with as much popularity/notoriety as yourself makes it a point to broadcast their play sessions to the public (and respond to the community even though no one was implying you were a cheater as far as I can recall) then yes. You should be taking into consideration what kind of players you're running with.
In some ways I agree, but nothing excuses cheating. Also, you do realize how bad this makes you look right? It implies that you advocate/participate in/practice botting.
You should be able to play this game 6-8 hours a day and not feel like you are at a huge handicap because you are doing 70% less damage than the top paragon players.
You get out of the game what you put into it. If you have to cheat to get more out of it then you are in the wrong. If you are comparing your accomplishments to cheaters then I suggest you avoid that like the rest of the legitimate players.
Not only does this make people feel like they can't compete but it also splits the player base where groups of people only play with others around the same paragon lvl for efficiency reasons.
In a hypothetical scenario where botting and cheating doesn't exist, people will always seek to play with those of equal skill. When it comes to video games based around gear and stats those two factors will always affect the initial impression when deciding when to play with someone or not. There is no way around it.
I hate to speak the truth but you guys think this ban wave fixes the game are wrong.
Fairly certain (could be wrong) that that was never expressed explicitly nor implied. In fact most here are stating they are glad it happened and it's a good way to respond to the concerns of the community.
With all that said, you probably should have kept your thoughts to yourself. I considered you an OK guy and a legitimate player until you posted this. I still think you play legitimately, but then again I'm not going to watchdog you and I don't really have much time to pay attention to streamers in general. However, I was expecting a little bit more intelligence from you. A game that's designed in a way that you don't agree with doesn't mean it's flawed and it never excuses cheating. But everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose.
Looking at the front page of the rb site drops are down about 25% compared to yesterday, from what I recall yesterday at this time there were 1 790 000 Legendarys and 450 000 set items found in the previous 24 hours today it is 1 248 000 and 335 000.
So there are still plenty of active bots, at least Season 5 leaderboards EU & NA have been cleaned up
In my opinion using THUD is far, far worse than botting. That's actual cheating given it's a massive advantage vs. another player of comparable gear, skill and paragon.
Botting is prevalent because, as widely discussed, the end game now consists of grinding paragon and to a certain extent bounty mats. If they are going to ban botters then they should also ban THUD users. If Blizzard like the concept of THUD they should incorporate elements into the game.
i have no idea what the paragon fix is, just seems to me that it would be better to identify the root cause of botting and fix that instead of reacting (too late) to the by product of a deep rooted problem.

Paragon is absolutely a problem, no doubt. I'm actually pretty happy a constant rank #1 leaderboard player has said so as well, considering all the counter arguments such as 'paragon doesn't give very much power, so it doesn't matter'.
However, to your first point; yes. Your spot should be wiped because you had players in your 4 person that were botting. Simple as that.

Yes, you are right. Blizzard should ban all botters and all thud users! They also should ban all autohotkey/macros/numlock users and all players who have additional keys on their keyboards and mices. Cause they do have an unfair advantage vs legit players. After that, Blizzard should ban everyone with 16:9 screens cause they have a massive advantage vs. player with 4:3 screen (me). And only then the game will flourish, cause i will be able to be top 1 in all ladders.
The amount of huge epeens in this thread because of a ban wave is pretty pathetic. If people would put as much time into D3 as crying about botters and t-hud users, you might actually get somewhere in the game. Moving up the leaderboard 5 spots is nothing to brag about. The only thing this does is decrease the already shrinking player base. I see it in community chat daily. Compared to a month ago there is 10% if that of the people that were logging in.

What?
Yea, because until the Warden update Gaby was on 24/7 for days on end, only downtime being server maintenance, of course he wasn't botting.Admitting I use THUD? Not all the botters are banned. im alive
Just as a clarification: all you WQW friends are botters.

This has already been addressed in several discussions how it's irrelevant to the ban wave or botting in general.
