I gotta have to go with either a teleport with cooldown or no teleport at all. Really, i get insanely pissed off knowing how fast sors can reach baal, not to mention how little time it takes to get baal to have health.
I would also like to see a class that masters more than one element. But of course not all, maybe just a couple. I also like to see it used with more strategy too. Like if a class could cast water/ice, they could cast it on a monster, and use a lightning spell on it for additional damage. I'd like that idea because it opens up a lot more strategy to kill monsters.
So.. what? Enchanter for the males? I don't mind at all, and it could be an interesting approach, because with a name as Enchanter, I'd expect to actually.. y'know.. Enchant.
Ya, you get my drift.

It would be cool to have a Skill Set of Enchanting Spells. Imagine picking up a really nice Enchantress/Enchanter weapon, armor and then customizing it for whatever duration of time with Enchant Spells.
Besides that they could add the usual skill sets, Fire, Light, Cold etc..

Mr.Diablo i think this is the most stupid discussion. female is called sorceress and the male is called sorcerer - it will be waaay better than any of the stupid ideas you came up with. so what if the class has 'two' names. its the same thing anyways.
The sorceress is the only class who deserved teleport, and despite her extreme vulnerability to physical damage even she was getting a little out of hand by 1.09. The shit really hit the fan in 1.10 and no greater factor contributed to that patch's epic failure than enigma.

Elementalist sounds like someone who only studies the Elements, not casts them.
Its like saying a Scientist actually goes into space like an Astronaut.
Anyway, those are my two names for the class. Magician, and Wizard. I think they apply to both genders. (Or, knowing how much Blizzard wants this game to be WoW...they might just throw in the Warlock)
Edit: Also, I really hope teleporting exists in D3. It was in the first two games, so why not?

It may still be fun, but it will be World of Diablo.
And anyway, its not regarding the PvP element, since PvM is the object of the game.
And in PvM teleport = MASSIVELY imba.
Haha, nice fix
But what about when other characters could teleport too? (Enigma)
Although I hated Enigma, it gave other characters a chance against casters, when they could teleport. It also balanced it out more in PvM.
There are other ways of balancing it though. Reducing the cast rate, raising mana cost, i'm sure Blizzard could think of something. Teleporting makes the combat much more exciting IMO.

ahhhhh you idiots god. ok think of the sorc in diablo 1 used more then elemental skills. and the sorceress from diablo 2 was a certian clan that used elemental skills rather then other skills. acording to a diablo wiki there are more then just zann esu and vijeri. so for all we know there could be a whole new name for the mage class. get your minds out of diablo 2 and get it more into the lore of diablo.
If no one had teleport except the sorceress, and she had it on a 3 second cd, it would be great.
I wouldn't mind that, and I suggested something similar a few times. Sorceress is even my favorite class but teleport makes MF and PvP too easy/boring.
IMO, I think it's a mistake to name the classes anything special and more of a mistake to make us keep calling them that. I think we should just choose a character from and image as we did in the LOD and then we name it both in terms of class and formal/given name.
Thus we wouldn't be stuck with "witch doctor" and could instead choose from a menu of names: shaman, voodoo priest, etc. (for the "barbarian" we could instead have a choice of say: viking, bandit, hero, vandal, or even hooligan... note, it might mean that Blizzard comes up with different names for the NPC discussion, no more generic "welcome hero" ).
Customization would be so much better than being stuck with a name that we don't really feel reflects the type of character we want to create (for example, I think a voodoo priest might be fun, but don't feel like bragging to friends that I have a lvl 40 witch doctor).
Think about it... in later mods we might even be able to have special skills available only if we choose a given name. That would be sweet. On the downside, even without the special skill part, Blizzard would have to find a way to describe the class specific items. But then again, maybe not. It might involve some trial and error to find out a Rogue couldn't use a wand (or maybe just the spell portion of a wand), but that would be a bit like real life; pick it up and see what's grayed out.

Mage or Mages
just a hunch though

Seems perfectly plausible to me.
The Sorceresses from D2 yeah. Although there was a Sorcerer in D1 I forgot which clan he was part of, it wasn't the same as the D2 ones.
The D2 Sorceresses are from the Zann Esu clan. Which is female only.

But remember how Barbs could kill Sorcs in 1 hit or less when they teleported too close?
Or how Zons could shoot them down with only a few arrows?
There are ways to balance it out.
