Maybe one notch lower. POSSIBLY last boss just seems to lack the depth and intelligence for it though.
Didn't they say that thousand pounder wasn't a boss at all, but only a enemy you would come across now and then? and i believe they also said the siegebreaker assault beast wasn't a boss...maybe not though. He certainly seemed like a boss to me. The way he blows up at the end and all.
That being said, i guess if you consider corpesfire to be a "boss" than maybe thousand pounder can count as one aswell.

Well I think they did say Thousand Pounder wasn't really a boss, but before they went to fight Siegebreaker they said something like "We want to show you now what a REAL boss fight looks like."
I consider corpse fire a boss or mini boss something like that. You have to kill him to complete the quest and at that level he's not impossible but he's not too easy either.

Actually, what he said was: "Before we leave you, lets see what a REAL fight looks like." Didn't say anything about a boss.
oh.. there will be cooler ones! but yeah siege beast was leet, its pretty much just a hell pitlord from wow. Take Brutallus from sunwell, change his hands a little, make him red and stuff
I remember reading somewhere (can't find the quote, but it's somewhere deep in the home part of Diablo Fans) that guys like the Siegebreaker Assault Beast are part of the random side quests that they are implementing into the game. so you could get him or not.

"Waiter, waiter, could you come here. I think you got some WoW in my Diablo. Could you take it back to Blizzard and fix it for me please."
i'd like it maybe as a once every three days kind of thing, but on the other hand i want it to be extremely rare, something i might run into with some friends from school and the next day when we meet up we're all freaking out like:
me: Oh my gosh that was the greatest
billy: He killed Jimmy!
Jimmy: Damn straight! Ha, bit me in half and flung my ass into the ocean!
tanya: Did you see me finish him off with that fireball?
That would be one of those memorable moments we'd cherish
Actually, if the Siege "Bigass" beast, was just some random boss or spawned from a random side quest. That'd be pretty awesome.
Imagine exploring an area, and suddenly without warning a thing just bursts through the walls and knocks you several feet away. That'll keep your heart pounding for hours knowing a boss could spawn outta nowhere.
Offtopic: Wouldn't it be better if u allowed the thousand powder guy to be summoned? I'm sure he has good drops. Also, I like how the uniques of a type of monster is actually "unique" and not just different color. Its much much more intimadating.
I really like the sound of the beast, and the fact that he had the ability to pick players up and "dispose" of them. That should keep you on your toes as well.
Or how about... yourself as a boss? You get trapped by Azmodan into a dimension of shadows or mirrors or something and have to defeat your own equal-strength character clone with strategy or environment or something.
Ah, some cliches have a little tiny bit of juice left in them that needs squeezing out so they can finally die. Who better than Activision-Blizzard to finish them off?
I kind of agree, but this game is too imaginative and innovative to the point where putting this kind of thing in the storyline would be somewhat stupid imo.
what about one of the unused classes from d2? we could have to fight an amazon
edit: we probably will fight the amazon. just realized something:
Diablo's vessel in d2 was probably the warrior from d1
The summoner from d2 was much more likely than not the sorcerer in d1
Blood Raven in d2 was almost obviously the rogue from d1
so now we probably have the next-gen 'bosses'
an amazon driven mad with time,
a paladin converted and bent to diablo's will,
a necromancer brought back from the grave (Iiiiiiironyyyyy),
an assassin bought out by the corrupt mages,
a druid probably trapped in werebear form and tamed,
a sorceress sentenced to forever burning,
and the barbarian is somehow safe
i'm okay with the metal, just wishin they aren't all armored, ya know? I do wanna see one totally metal, but that's taking it too far because most diablo fans are anti-steampunk. And thx :-)
edit:spelling error i'm bored enough to fix, still not bored enough to capitalize my i's.
First of all, I'd like to say, way to single my post out without actually quoting me. Since you did, I thought I'd respond.

As far as looks, I liked it. I hadn't thought about it but I agree that they really shouldn't be leaning towards a game where the bosses have a lot of metal involved. I'm hoping that since it was a "Living Siege Engine of Hell" that the engine part explains all the metal.
This is what I said, to which you replied..

The metal is explained by the fact that the seige beasts, albeit different, were in LoD and had been covered in armor. . because they were freaking seige beasts. Their not making robots.
The problem is, what you saw was not a siege beast, as seen in LoD. This was a Siegebreaker Assault Beast.. to compare.
Those are the same beast to you? No, they may be similar, but its a completely different animal.

I remember reading somewhere one of the Dev's said that the siege beast has a lot of cool attacks. I watched the video again and..he really doesn't. He just kind of walks around aimlessly changing targets and whenever he gets close he does his 3 pink swipe thing. Other than that all he did was the 2 finishing moves (one for female WD and the other the male Barb).
You replied..
Quote from "NadalOverdrive" »
I suspect that not all his mvoes were implimented, especially since the 'finisher' moves were for the video and are not confirmed as actually going to the game. They wanted something that could look cool but made it in a way that if they wanted they /could/ put it in the game.
Okay, to start, nothing even in that video is confirmed as being in the game except that the barb and WD exist. Why would the Dev's say that he had a lot of cool attacks if they didn't put them in? I counted 2 real attacks (3pink swipe, and a charge-ish attack) and then the 2 finishing moves. A total of 4 different ways to harm a player, 2 of which will only happen if the player is close to death, thats hardly a "lot." You could say that they only allowed it to use close range melee attacks to provoke the finishing moves; that would make more sense than just not putting all the moves in when you already told me it had a lot of cool attacks.

Lastly, I said..
Quote from "Sparks1013" »
Although when the barb was fighting the Thousand Pounder I noticed that Seismic Slam or whatever that move was called (where he smashes the ground and rocks sort of crumble out in a cone) did the most damage out of anything else he used. Blizzard said that they were aiming for a game where spamming one move wouldn't do the trick, but in this case, it would have.
To which you said..
Quote from "NadalOverdrive" »
As for going further off topic here. That attack did more, but who knows what it will be like in the final game? The reason for this? Maybe he can't spam that move, maybe there will be cooldowns or not enough mana to use it constantly, etcetera. I'm sure they will stick with the 'you can't just spam and win' deal they claim.
Maybe you're right, but, I can only take what they've shown me literally. That being said, watch the thousand pounder fight again. This time, watch his fury when he uses Seismic Slam, it barely goes down at all and recovers almost instantly. So much for your mana argument..
Can't spam it? Watch the video for that specific move here. Looks like hes spamming it pretty good to me..
Now for the cooldown thing. While watching the thousand pounder fight, since I can't tell you for sure which icon represents Seismic Slam, watch them all. None of the moves he has selected have a cooldown. And to prove that cooldowns do already exist, rewind a bit back to the part where he used Ground Stomp on the skeletons with the shields. After he uses this move, the first of the icons (obviously the Ground Stomp move) lights back up in a clockwise fashion much like a WoW cooldown.

Well the assault beast had better of been a boss of some kind. If I end up fighting monsters that hard every 10 minutes, not going to be all that fun.
