On topic: yes it would be cool totally awesome to kill monsters in a swamp and watch as the water's color slowly turn red with the blood of the slain monsters.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
the witch doc is supposed to come from a swampy area of sanctuary, i heard. so theres a good chance that it may an explorable area.
to expand on the environmental effects, how about elemental effects too, like ice spell + fire spell will freeze then melt doing more damage, and ice + light or whatever! makes more builds

i picture something like Dagobah from Star Wars.
maybe even meet some crazy Yoda like NPC's with quests.

A lvl 99 character instantly killed because it got sucked by the swamp.
