Ironically, even though the game play is very "consolised"
but graphics - wise I find this game much more Diabl - esque
In fact, more so than the Actual Diablo 3, which decidedly
toook a low - poly cartoony crap approach.
Looked cool though. I never knew anything about the Kuf games. As for D3 I'm sure they picked the least cool area to play in that demo, they don't want to show you diablo's lair or something

WTF? Graphics-wise it looks more Diablo-esque? Man you are CRAZY.
No I would not like Diablo to look like that. I like Diablo 3, for the most part, the way it is right now.
It looks too much like Lineage II for me.... I played the previous Kingdom under Fire games... and though they are good, Diablo 3 is a long shot from it.

You are probably just thinking it because of the different camera angle
It only takes a couple lines of code to make "Diablo" perspective (just fix camera)
Hmm, While D3 doesn't exactly look much like a "Diablo" game at the moment I think I would be as equally unhappy if it looked like that to be honest, but each to his own.

That and it has HEAVY anime influence and monsters burst into black and red splatter, dunno if that's suppose to be blood or what...
Reminds me of Devil May Cry.
I like the way the game looks, looks pretty fun. Just doesn't look Diabloish to me.
I told you in my first post that "the gameplay looks very consolized"
So that means that I don't like it, because I hate consoles.
So just ignore the gameplay, and also ignore the console "splatter"
which Diablo 3 does have, and I already said I don't like it
in my previous posts when we were talking about God of War.
However, putting the gameplay and "console features" like
"mandatory anime guy in trenchcoat" and ps2 style hair aside,
the graphics, design of monsters, textures, lighting, armor, weaps,
environments is what I am referring to.

You have got to be kidding me. Let it die, guys... the art direction is fine, you should be glad you're getting D3.

And again, if you want to play that game in an MMO setting, play Lineage II... I'm sure you'll like it a lot better since everyone seems to be jumping on the art bandwagon here. *Rolls eyes*

After Diablo 2 I played WoW alot
and procceeded to raid heavily, so
I was expecting the dosage of realistic
dark gory fantasy from the next installment
of Diablo franchise, as a change from WoW's caroonishness.
So, you must understand, I don't want just "any" Diablo 3.
WoW keeps me entertained for now.
If Diablo 3 expects me to give up WoW for it
it has to offer something drastically different in
terms of athmosphere, graphics, and overall "feel" of the game.
I'm constantly looking at pictures, movies, Youtube,
and various sources trying to "picture" in my head
what Diablo franchise should be.
While this argument is rather redundant by now, and I don't agree D3's graphics should look like KuF, there is something visible in the video if you pay attention past the stupid gameplay and Lineage style characters.
Look at the backgrounds, they've managed to use an abundance of colour yet still maintain an evil, ominous tone. It's actually proof that colour and the Diablo world go hand in hand pretty easily, but Blizzard just isn't doing it right.

Jesus, do you ever just let your text get to the other side of the box?
Frankly Blizzard can't cater to everyone, and the design choices are indeed new and creative. They have time to do more things, or even redo certain aspects. You'll either like it or you won't...
OR... You could play the game and realize that judging from THE EARLIEST footage received is pointless. Especially in the case of Blizzard.
In case of Blizzard, they got enough cash from WoW
so they aren't strapped for cash and they have
Starcraft 2 coming up soon too, so they shouldn't
be in any rush before unveiling Diablo 3 and
I don't understand why wouldn't they take their time
to show case their new game from the best side?
Judging from their website they put alot of effort
into the presentation of this game, and tried to show
case the game to maximize the appeal to the potential
target market.
So, I am afraid your theory of Blizzard showing the worse
part of the game just doesn't hold up, because
Blizzard is not forced to rush the presentation, and
are in the position to take advantage of huge cash
and no pressing deadlines and as such it simply wouldn't
make sense.
And just by looking at the game graphically, it's just
miles behind KuF. Mind you KuF is released for the
crap box 360 which uses outdated 7800GTX series card,
and mesely 256 megabytes of RAM. Worse than most
mid - range PC's of today.
so it's not even that advanced graphics, just design
decisions and clever usage of light normal maps and
excellent armor design. And not trying to pinch a few
polygons and make fingers look square and hair like a
solit piece of triangles, and adhering to the
"Oversized shoulderpads with spikes" design theory of WoW.
im for changing the art direction but... you gotta be shitting me. this looks nothing like a diablo game. why dont you do some side by side screen shots to demonstrate what you mean... because i doubt you can.

Nah, blizzard even admitted to holding back the games best features in a recent design panel discussion. While I won't say they showed us the worst part of the game, they certainly held back. Do you realize how much worse Blizzard's alpha-stage graphics look, compared to final product? Historically speaking.

Way to start ANOTHER thread about the graphics.
