Does anyone else notice that the statue in the cinematic intro for Diablo III looks suspiciously like the guy who gets killed by Baal in the intro of Diablo II Expansion?
I think thats just the ordinary Aranoch architecture, those big statues are probably royalty or dynasty family or part of their religion. There would be no connection to Marius... Marius wasnt famous or anything
Their religious leaders or whoever is in those statues must have a thing about being bald
Nah, I think you're stretching it now. He just looks like he is a sad guy. Most of us think that is actually the city Ureh, from The Kingdom of Shadow. I can guarantee you that it is not Horrogath or Sesyron.

Yea Genesis, the OP was referring to the old geezer who gets exploded at the gates of Arreat. I can see some resemblance, but the man who exploded's face was a bit chubbier I think.
Edit: Nevermind, they are definately not the same person.
1. That statue's mouth is too big
2. The exploded barbarian had a more drawn out jaw
3. The exploded barbarian has a more patchy beard
4. Appears to be in a warm arid region, not Harrograth
5. The statue has a crown, the barbarian definately was NOT a king, just a messanger.
I read the thread about Ureh, and it said the citizens souls were sucked out of their bodies or something like that. Thats what that picture reminds me of.

That's exactly what came into my head, but I couldn't remember who it was.
Daemaro is talking about the messenger who told Baal to order his troops to retreat from the siege. Then Baal exploded him.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
the very first time i saw the trialer, i saw the statue and that was my exact thought, only if igured it WAS him, not "it MIGHT be him"
Yup that guy.
Don't know his exact role but I believe he had a banner in one hand?
The guy in this video:

Marius wasn't in the intro to DII expansion
I was talking about the guy on Arreat who got exploded.
Isn't that ALSO in the expansion...?
Anyway no reason to go around calling people fucktards. I posted the video of the guy you were talking about...
