Finding the clearest frame of the comet from the Cinematic Trailer, I outlined a little image. It appears as if an angelic figure makes up the core of the comet, reeling from one hell of a blow. I surmise this may be the aftermath of Tyrael's confrontation with Imperius. It could either be Tyrael or Imperius, though it really appears as though the figure is staggered, leading me to believe Imperius may've won the fight. However, I could easily be wrong about the staggered pose, and it could just be Imperius coming down to begin sowing the seeds of Sanctuary's destruction. Discuss.
Here: Look close or you'll miss it. It appears to be an angelic figure curved into the descent more from this. Which would mean Imperius most likely. Or perhaps Tyrael coming to deliver the warning.
actually there seems to be 2 "comets" or something like that. we know one landed in tristram, but what about the thing that landed near arreat? watch the teaser and see those two guards and that gigantic crater thing? what is that?

Remember the String of Ears

Well, you have the hooded and armored humanoid figure, the blue aura seen in Destruction's End, and Blizzard changing the website to mark that the comet is the harbinger of doom.

id say whatever landed in tristram is not a comet. the crater it makes is to small and then theres that angel rising out of something in the cathedral. along with the guy who almost gets hit is in both screenies.

Maybe its the crater caused by the destruction of the World Stone.
**Edit**
I agree about the comet. I don't think the one in Tristram is an actual comet. What significance would a big rock have? It's either tyrael or imperius.
well the odd blue light could mean an angelic presence.
Or it could mean... FIRE. You know, a heat producible easily by man, it's not far fetched to assume a smoldering rock falling through the atmosphere would rise to a temperature that would allow the presence of a blue flame.
Going to be honest, if it IS an Angel coming down, which I don't think so, given a lot of things... It mirrors then, nearly exactly the intro for Darksiders: Wrath of War.

well comets do emit blue flames while entering the atmosphere...but not at that altitude...and thats because mostly of the dust and ice in its tail, not on the rock itself.

Speaking of the one at Tristram, I did another direct frame capture.

I really see it, im also really damn high. But its actually there you can see it at the end of that flash thing, it almost looks as if he picks up a sword at the end. you can definitely see the wings and the blue glow.
Can someone catch me up to speed. I'm not sure who Imperius is other than another Angel. Is there another thread pertaining to this character and his story?
Edit: Nevermind I found a thread.
