Yeah, I definately like it, as long as it's effect is small or purely cosmetic, and have a rather low droprate.
Yes, I agree with a very low drop rate, it makes the trophy more special. :rolleyes:
For the effect maybe you need to collect all super unique monster trophies for special surprise
Or they could just implement a trophy room that keeps track of everything. When you kill (x) super unique, you get a special trophy automatically added to your trophy room.
They could make it a basic 2D screen like with Halo 3 that keeps track of tons and tons of stats.
Or include a 3D chamber that you can explore, and the trophies could be actual 3D objects, such as their head hung up on a wall.

I like the 2D halo 3 idea...I play a lot of halo 3 and love being able to see all of the things I've done.

Ya I would personally go with that as well. I don't play Halo 3, but I've seen how the game keeps tracking of everything, and it was really impressive. I would like to see the numbers for each type of monster killed, the numbers for deaths including by what mob and what attack (such as how many times you have died by poison), the numbers for the loot of uniques, sets, runes, gems, gold etc...
I love when a game tracks all of your statistics, so I'm all for that. The only problem I would have is running out of storage room for your trophies. There's WAY too many things to collect in D2 and very little storage.
Are you talking about some king of trophies gallery like in Super smash bros where you can look at the 3d models of the monsters you got the trophies from ?
1. Have a trophy be a mandatory drop from all/most super uniques and bosses. Just something to hold onto and keep in your stash or inventory just for fun.
2. Maybe have it be a rare drop from super uniques and bosses and offer some sort of character change, nothing like a stat, spell, or damage change, but just visuals. Maybe have them be like charms or when you get a "set" of these trophies you get a special aura around your character. Or have some of your attack animations changed, or add fire or a shadow like aura to all your attacks.
3. Or as others have said, just have it be like Xbox360 achievements and just have a character page that displays what bosses you've killed and maybe how many times you've killed them.
Dunno. Any of those would be pretty cool, just as an additional little feature.

The trophy can be a severed body parts or personal item belongs to the super unique monster like the Butcher's cleaver on Diablo.
