Instead of having a little chest for storage, why not have a house or shed. This would allow for much more storage and still seem realistic. One thing I hated was having to create mules, it made collecting items much more difficult then it had to be.
Let me know what you guys think of this!
I hope this hasn't already been mentioned, otherwise I just wasted your time.
While it does sound like a good idea for more storage I'm against it. It seems to me D2 had just the right amount of storage. I don't mean this as an attack against you, but the problem of needing more storage only comes from hoarding items. You really don't need that much.

Well. If there are a small limit for the number of players in a game. Lets say the official unoffical somewhat what they are aiming for kinda number of 5.
5 people in a game, each town has 5 portals that lead to personalized instanses of houses. You get to do what alot of people enjoyed in SWG and many other games. If you join a guild, then you can teleport not to your house, but to a guildhouse that has a room for each member, up to a certain point.
This guildhouse would be a meetingpoint for just guildies. Something that would be greatly apriciated, I am sure, if they are planning to include PvP as a feature. If not, just pvp as something extra, then I guess it is too much hassle.
I remember the days of Neocron, and I can say that the guild-housing was immensly usefull.
So... there fore /signed
even though I am not holding my breath.

Perhaps the implausibility of its own existence makes the skeleton think it hilarious to hide in a barrel, cackling intermittently for some three hundred years until a victim happens by?
Globes of health. That float. Riiight
... and no one thought twice about chugging something that had been stuffed into a poisonous mummy for the last thousand years. This magical orb shit is going to ruin my sense of immersion big time.

lol, yeah, I do enjoy hoarding items...but I like to look at it more as collecting items. Thanks for the feedback, it seems as though people are on your side with this subject.
While I'd like a "home" somewhere, I'd very much prefer one, gigantic chest, shared across all your characters.
There's really no reason to limit storage space, since it only leads to muling anyway, and it's likewise useless to have one storage for a character and another "shared" storage across all characters, when they might aswell all share one big one.
I agree. I feel that a shared storage per account would be extremely good. There was a Diablo II mod called Requiem for something-or-other, and they had shared storage... and I had at least 50 pages full... but then again, I saved every unique and set item just for the possibility of using it on a different character.

A shared Storage would be nice expecially for those people that don't play much online.
As for a house...I duno I find it hard to picture a Witch Doctor walk through a portal to his humble home sit down for a while and make himself some cookies...:P

hmmm, looks like I'm going to have to start a new thread called, new voodoo bunny exploding thrown cookies skill.
I'm glad most people agree with me about needing more storage, because I really do enjoy collecting rare items...maybe the house idea was a far stretch but it was just an idea.

I don't agree... I stored:
gems/runes because I may need them for different characters and I want to cube them eventually;
rings for different purposes, especially lighting, fire, and ice resistance, as well as STR rings and stuff;
set items - can't complete a set without storing set items, and they are pretty big;
items that may be useful for other classes;
charms for different situations.
keeping the chest is the key,, makes you have to keep your top fav items that u find with endless time that u played,, having a house or tent would exactly become a hoarding situation, maybe having two types of chests once u become higher up in the game woudl be more practical,, one being the norm and one being slighlty bigger,, plus having the cube inside the chest is also a huge help in D2 so basically ethir way woudl be fine to me
That little trunk is crap. Diablo fans are known to be pac rats and by not limiting the amount of items you obtian would cut down on BS diablo stores trying to make a quick buck off you. Yes we are all guilty of buying items.

As for a shed or house, I dunno about that. Seems kind of out of place for a traveling adventurer to have a house in every town you visit.
Then again I never understood why your chest just stayed there without anyone walking up and stealing it.

All that just can't fit into DII storage.
