One of our most favorite moments from the "Game play Video" was the death of the male barbarian.
First he was picked up and BITEN IN HALF, and blood continued to gush, and entrails flail until the beast was slain.
Now a lot of people are worried about "Instant Death" and monsters supposedly having this attack.
Well allow me to explain...
In the video we see the Barb getting heavy damage, as also the female witch doctor, who subsequently dies in the pool of water...
But why was the Barbarian bitten in half? It was conditions that were meant.
1. Barbarian had received heavy damage and was low on health (probably 10 life left)
2. Boss had attacked said Barbarian with this "Special Death Move" because the CPU noted "Low Life" and "Proper Placement for Animation"
This is why he was ripped into pieces. Not because the Boss had "Rip IN Half" skill, but because the computer calculated that with the barbs health, and his current position in relation to attacking was just right, so do "Special Death Move"
The only other example I can explain is in Mega Man x for SNES, at the first battle with Vile, he tried to shoot you with a sticky plasma when your health is low. He only does this when your health is low, and it is possible to dodge this attack. If you keep dodging he will eventually get you with it, because he has to for the story to continue.
But what I am saying in a nutshell is, the boss tried a special move because conditions were met, and I am sure if the Barb had moved or dodged, the boss would have missed and the battle would have continued. Then at another moment of opportunity, the boss would try this special attack again.
I hope that makes sense to those who were confused.

ps. This little death move is only 1 more reason why Blizzard is so awesome...
"D3 is too light, Diablo is supposed to be a dark game" Did you create it? Do you know exactly what the intended purpose for Diablo is? Imo, if you want a game that has a ENTIRELY dark and gloomy atmosphere...make one. It don't have the patience or know-how to create a game tailored to YOUR specifics...then shutty and deal with it cause your S.o.L unless you just don't want to buy it.
Ya i was thinking, if i try to stand toe to toe with this guy am i gunna get my my body ripped in half. It makes sense that its a finishing move and i think if the barb tried to run away and make a tp or somthing he would have lived. I think the finishing moves are awesome and i hope our characters have somthing cool like that. I am just curious about what happens when you die. I didn't see any corpses lying around but maybe they just havnt added that part in yet or somthing. I dont know, i just hope its not to much different then Diablo 2, right now i feel like its an entire new game.

Diabolic Detonation -
Every time Diablo attacks an enemy under 66% hp, Diablo has 43% chance to activate his fatality. Diablo obliterates and explodes the enemy alive, creating a 13.32 yard area of effect damage based on the heroes current HP.

It was actually a very well-written post, and I'm sure many will benefit from this factual and rational explanation.
Kudos.
It's time to welcome the other 80% of the color wheel to a Diablo game.
