Well, I dunno about you but that girl in the trailer looks like a child to me...And if she's in the trailer, chances are that she's inside the game too..

Lace me with the words of destruction and I'll explode, but supply me with the will to survive and watch the world grow.
yeah sounds like a good idea...just dont make them all look the same and have big feet like WoW lol. i think that since no evil has been present for 20years, there is bound to be families with children.

"I'd rather chop off my ding-dong than admit that booze ain't food!"
At the very least they should have children crying in the background. The Demons luring you further into the catacombs with babies. Or the demons would mimic the sounds of infants crying.
I like that idea. Luring you in then BAM demons everywhere tryin to escape.

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this
Christmas thing last
By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
I want to be able to produce children, then when the time comes for diablo, i will hurl my little, child army, weilding dual daggers, at him. I will never have to pay for mercs again. Mwahahaha
Also if you die you can take over, as your child, and run to where you died to revive yourself on the spot.
I had this same thought about a lack of kids when playing Morrowind and Oblivion. I thought, does like this entire world send all their kids off to some boarding school island that's super secret?

OMG! I thought it was just me that thought that! Yeah, after the countless hours it finally hit me. At one point I was like, "Damn, this is so amazingly and thoroughly realistic!" And then I started wondering if they ever had sex, and then I realized that that can't be it because there aren't any babies or children (unless they all have abortions and take morning pills, but I don't think they really had those back in the day  )
Anyway, yes, tortured children actually strikes at my heart, whereas the nameless adults just seem... bland.

I think they left out the kids and babies because they knew there would be people like me running around the streets killing innocent people. Men, women, take no prisoners.
I don't think they wanted baby killing in their game. The media would cry for a year about that.
To all four of the previous statements- many lol's and rofl's and one lmao. It's all so true!
Okay, now that we're off topic...
Time to make it on topic!
I'm all for it- it adds realism and more anger toward the forces of evil for their cruel actions against the young, who aren't as equipped to battle them as a mature adult would be (in most cases.)
Wouldn't it be cool though if there was a quest monster that fed off of the souls of children, a lot of the towns children have been disappearing. So you track it to it's lair and there are dead kids everywhere?
I usually don't kill anything unless it gives me experience, so, probably not.
just as long as they spawn back, so the village does not become a ghost town in the end...

"Oh noez! They'ze going to get brutally slaughtered like in Saw and make the game rated AO or even banned!"
It's possible... But if they add nothing to the game than we might as well sacrifice that little bit of 'immersion' that comes with seeing them.
At the very least, imagine that since there's a whole lot of shit going on outside, all the children just want to hang out in their rooms and whatnot.

In a way yes. I think everyone loved The Butcher.
