Wow they are really messing this game up for real. They need to keep it more like Diablo 2 and less like WOW lets try to please the Diablo fanbase not the WOW fanbase... kk thx.
Also if they make a pally and it doesnt have FOH Im going to be so mad.
Did you even read the earlier post? WoW got the idea of talent trees from Diablo's skill trees... yet nobody was saying "They need to keep it like Warcraft and less like Diablo". Stuff your bias, stuff your elitist attitude, and just enjoy the bloody game.

I'm pretty confident Blizzard will improve the skill/talent tree and make it better than both WOW and D2. Blizzard has never let me down with a game before, they know what they're doing so I wouldn't worry too much about this.
I remember that people were pretty pissed when they were going to change D1 skills to D2 way and look how that turned out. It made the classes so much more defined. and made the gameplay so much better. I really didn't think they were going to have 3 skills trees anymore because they have the chance to change it for the better. By doing whatever they are doing they are just going to increase the diversity between the classes more. This way not everyone is going to need teleport and be enigma clones!!!
There was no point in having 20 levels per skill in D2. It limited the number of builds and there was very little reward in gaining skill levels later in the game due to the tiny increments. There was barely any difference in level 13 and 14 zeal for example. I am all for increasing the number of skills and decreasing the number of points per skill.
The only thing about lowering the points-per-skill is that it would likely drive out the +skill items. If a skill can be maxed at 5, every bonus skill from your items would make a giant difference. So if they are lowering the points-per-skill I think we will be seeing more +X% to cold skill damage rather than +X to cold skills. This would make it more balanced.

If there was barely a difference to you, then you should have invested your points elsewhere. Just because you deemed later levels of zeal inefficient doesn't mean the 20 point system was bad. I personally maxxed zeal because that was the skill my paladin used all day every day and every little bit helped.

I hope blizzard realizes that they have complete control 1-infinity level of every single skill they put into the game. If a skill has only 3 trainable points, make the additional points gained through items give a signicantly smaller bonus as opposed to making it the same gain per level.
Which just made me think of something interesting. They could have levels of skills where the spell becomes "unstable". Like at level 23 fireball has increased chance to backfire, but maybe at level 24 it becomes stable again. This would make it so you couldn't just mindlessly think "must pump skills". You would have to plan more and try to keep the skills you use stable when picking your items.
They won't get rid of +skills. Thats what lets casters be able to solo the game. Melee will still get ridiculous weapons to allow them to solo as well.
Although I do think the idea of this new skill system is crud; horay for individuality. Yeah, if they were all 0/20's the best builds would become cookie cutter but theres PvP builds and PvE builds. With this new system your character will be both.

Your right.
Fuck improving the game, why play something better when you can play something older?
Diablo influenced the talent system... Now the talent system is influencing the SKill tree system.
D2>WoW>D3
It is not "WoW"ing up your gameplay, because it came from Diablo. Get real buddy.
If you want "your Game" exactly how it is, play D2 ffs.
Amen! Sing it loud and high unto the High Heavens!
