Interesting Idea, I guess it would ne part of the whole "Guild" Idea, where guilds can conpete for glory, Although the way it's done in Guildwars is really idiotic....If it was something new and truly unique to the game then yes....A bunch of game modes for "Guilds".
Now that would be truly cool.

Return to the roots of the game to discover what D3 truly needs to be the only new-age action-RGP since D2.
a much better way of storing items for future use. Perhaps a long hallway with a door for every set items where you eventually end up with a bonus for completing every set?
A tab system on the Storage would be cool with me... look at Guildwars, they have have a tab system and it works just fine. imo. (probably the only thing i would take from that game though) Maybe have a Tab for Weapons, a seperate tab for Armor, another tab for Rings, another tab for Charms/runes/Gems ect ect.
or if they add Bags / Crates ect ect... we could have multiple "bags/crates" in our storage say each bag can hold, 6 items ? each crate can hold 12? you could trade/buy more if you need them sell/trade if you have too many. eh dunno just ideas i have seen in other games.
i think having that guild/clan idea of making them ladder and not just having players make them and not really having any significants. It would be nice to have that and have a page that pops up for our own clan/guild members that tells us if there on or off. let us have a leader then a personal adviser and give ranks to them....... maybe let us make our own ranking system inside the guild.
I agree with almost everything every one is saying. Some things I would personally love to see in Diablo 3 aside from some form change in art direction (some of which I already posted in other threads) :
- Lots of randomization when it comes to maps, mini-bosses, items, locations.
- Not so linear as in you don't have to follow a specific path to get to X location. Many many (randomized) ways to get from point A to point B
- Increased storage space/mechanics, but maintain the "tetris" style I fell in love with
- randomly generated "rares" be superior and often more powerful/useful than cookie-cutter uniques/set items
- customizable stat points, like in the first Diablos
- Lots (but not too many) uses for gold, (gambling, etc.)
- Have characters (at least the barbarian) run with a little quicker, smaller, more determined steps as opposed to large, leisurly strides (like low-gravity moon-walking seen in the 20 minute video) to instill a sense of urgency
Also, the following few deal a bit more with graphics, but still I'd like to put these:
- Blood stains on the floor and walls, pools of bubbling blood, urns filled with blood, etc
- Lots of corpses, torture, mutilated corpses in scenery, skeletons in hanging cages, etc. The overturned corpses looted in the outdoor area could be more graphic
- Option to have more (all?) monster bodies remain and not disappear
- The corruption of living flesh, and the feeling of having to face overwhelming odds, the minions of hell corrupting the land where even the air turns bleak with sorrow
- Detailed look of armor in the inventory screen instead of the animated character (we can already see the character in-game, especially when zoomed down).
That's about it for me, I tried to keep it short and not go much into reasons, just a list.
Well if I had the chioce to pick one gaming series and play that for the rest of my life it would be diablo so the announcement of the third sweet lord is the greatest news I have heard in my life!!
I would love to see the best of both 1 & 2
Feeling that 2 dropped some of the brilliance that made 1 so great (along with adding some more brilliance)
-I would love randomised quests to come back into the fray (I think this is already in the works with even class specific quests) So I am pretty confident to see new things each time playing...also for these to be implemented into battlenet rather then just single player would be excelent!!
- Tying in with the randomisation of quests I would love to see random main bosses, sometimes you get this guy sometimes you get this one...just like diablo 1 sometimes you would have butcher/leoric, others butcher/poisoned water. Keep the bosses that are esential for the story line but mixing up some others would be nice
- I love the skills but I would also love to see the rare spell come back through finding books. the joy of hunting after a spell through a book and finally getting that one spell you have been searching for!! LOVE IT
- Shrines has got a mention, I really thing the random and unforgiving nature of some of the shrines in diablo 1 should come back...we need to take a risk. The ability to gain at the cost of loosing something else and taking that gamble...as much as you hated seeing your magic go down and strength go up deep down I know you all loved it LoL
- I would love to see the game take the freedom of chr spec that doesn't seem to come. After its been out for a while there is a build that works best for each class and with the respec just like all games now thats what could happen. Dont get me wrong I am all for the respec, but I would love it to allow for change along with freedom. Not go oh crap that isn't the way the character NEEDS to be but you know what this works better for me. NO UBER SINGLE WAY TO SPEC A CLASS
- Again this same concept with weapons and armour, I would love the fact that there is no such thing as The ULTIMATE GEAR!!...having the options and the chioce enables people to be different and individual. I dont want to see Teir 1 Tier 2 Teir 3 and this is the sets that EVERYONE aims for (I have a feeling this is going to be what happens)
- The Rareness of items, make us keep playing and serching don't make things easy, make us work for our gear the Diablo Series is about replayabilty.
- Art work wise, I do agree on what blizzard have said that you need these contrasts in oder to make your dark and gothic dungeons even darker then, I think they know what they are talking about in that respect, if CAN NOT be 100% gloomy all the time, I do want to see some form of change. That being said I do hope they give it a slight more realistic feel, granted I dont mind it and it would never stop me from playing the game but it could be so much better I want to see those balck's and grey's come back rather then the blue/greens. Although a blend between them both would be sufficiant, as long as there is the light radius system implemented, that will help give more of an eerie effect.
- Co-op playing a big part. Being a single player and a multi player game finding this ballance may almost be impossible but if anyone can do it I know Blizzard will manage. Needing certain classes to help get you through the whole game...just think of it as one big "instance" Team work is required or else it aint happening, needing those mixture of classes 5 barbarians will get slaughted out there no matter how much their whirl whild rips everything to shreds there is something bigger and badder out there that will stop them in the tracks and they need that which docter to come in and help push forward.
- And the Blizzard style of humour kicking strong, give me a town drunk also while im on that issue
Well I know there is a few more things but a lot has been covered and I really wanted to just voice my own opinions, I'm off to do a bit of reading!
The current bar layout and the skills seen used on the two revealed character classes look too similar to that of which would be seen in Guild Wars. I would suggest that the art for skill tabs is similar to that which was used in Diablo II.
I second that!
the skill tree from Diablo II was genius and I wouldn't change it. skill tabs at 20 is perfect!
anything less is just horrible.
Coco, I agree fully with you on everything except on the bodies of fallen creeps staying there for a longer period. Although It would be cool, it would ultimatly make ram usage more or result in lag (especially if say 6 players are in the game and all their killed creeps bodies stay longer).
Furthermore, really cool ideas you have.
-Skill tree has to contain same structure, where you can plan out exactly what you want your build to be from the start.

Return to the roots of the game to discover what D3 truly needs to be the only new-age action-RGP since D2.
I would like to see Less Godly Items. LoD was loaded with godly items and Make D3 hack protected. Also They Better add PvP and Hardcore mode, or i will kill myself in real life, or at least cut my face.
One of the most frequently screwed up things in fantasy games (even movies such as LOTR) is how lighting bolts are portrayed. I have yet to one game or film truly get lightning right. Usually games will have dimly lit zzzztd sounding nonsense and the bolt is never as bright as it should be.
I would LOVE to see D3 break ground here, I am of course assuming that one of the yet to be announced characters will be a mage class. Think about it, if you are in a dark dungeon and your mage was to let loose a charged bolt on some foul creature. In real life the lightning bolt would be an arc of light visible for just an instant and the flash of light would intensely fill the room to. The charge being so close would not make a zzzzztd or a lengthy crack followed by a distant boom sound. It would be a sharp fast crack/boom, it’s sudden, startling, and it takes a few seconds for your eyes to readjust to the dark again. That’s how lightning really is.
Some years ago I was next to an electric transformer roughly 25 to 30 feet away in my car that got hit by lightning, from that distance it almost made no noise at all, rather I heard a “TUNG” sound of the transformer getting hit followed by a rapidly withdrawing rumble of thunder in all directions. It would be cool to see this kind of realism added to charged bolt, not sure if my actual experience would translate well in the game as most people have not been that close to a lightning bolt. I certainly hope to never be again, I almost needed to go home to change my shorts and couldn’t leave the area fast enough. LOL!
Either way I think most would agree lightning is terribly represented in games and Diablo could break some ground here. If done right this could be one of the coolest effects any of the player attacks could hope to have.
Imagine what these bolts would be like emanating from a staff inside of a dark close quartered labyrinth. Absolutely devastating!
I would love to see a Legendary type weapon, that is so rare, youd only hear rumors of one being found like every 5 months.... Think the magnitude that will have on addictiveness.

I really like that idea, even if it is "WoWish". Some sort of "legendary" items would be awesome. Not insane amounts better than uniques/sets and rares, but a little to make a difference. Just the pride of having one would be neat.
i grew up on Diablo 1, it was my first real video game.
i have to say great job, everything is looking awesome.
been playing since the franchise started, Change is okay but for gods sake will you please bring back the THRILL of the Diablo franchise?
i am SOOOOO sick of all of the mmorpgs that turn into a giant void of endless and pointless XP grinding.
the option to go about killing whoever you wish or being voulnerable to everybody in the game implies much more thrill and challenge to the game. i dont even pk personaly and i appreciate the hostile button, but since there is not as much thrill in being invoulnerbal to other players without your consent could you find it in your heart to try and find something new and unique to add the RPG genre that will bring back the adrenallin pumping excitement of Diablo II?it seems like an impossible task to bring back the excitement of Diablo II PVP with the new player consent to hostile rule, but i hope you guys at blizzard havesomething new in store for us, and not just a MMORPG/RPG thats exactly like every other
i wish for Diablo III to be the same combat style as DII, you at least try and throw something like battlegrounds in there? it might partialy make it up to some of your most loyal heartbroken fans that you broke the hostile button after making us wait 10 years for a sequel.

I wish crowd of monsters could push my character over bridges or gaps making me afraid of being alone near a cliff with too much of them !
I dream about fighting fallen heaven forces as well as demonic forces. I think that fallen angels can be as scary as demon itselves !
I wish that the Tetris-Inventory will be back again...
How would the falling off cliffs work? How would you get your items back when you die?
From my point of view it's not gonna work.
but maybe you have some other Ideas.
Tetris inventory forever...haha
