Sorceresses are female only? There's a sorceror in diablo 1.
Barbarians, who are sort of nordic type vikings can also be female in my opinion. There were female vikings as well, called 'sköldmö', or Shield Maiden translated to english.
Why shouldn't paladin be able to be female? Remember jean d'arc?
This is actually a hard topic, because some people want to look skimpy, while others want to look fully clad in armor. The problem is, you cant even tell if yoru male or female if you are covered in armor...but then again i guess the magic class people will probablly be skimpier because they are not fully clad in armor.
Oh and btw i hate having different stats for male and female chars...thast dumb and skews your choice..maybe a female wants to have a male character or a male wants a female character, or whatever...but because they dont lilke the stats better they cant. its a horrible idea.
As a girl, I'm just going to put in my two cents... I think that the way Blizzard handled the girls in D2 was just fine and made everyone happy. I agree with the fact that the Amazon's boobs were much to unrealistic, especially given the fact that they would be hell to aim and shoot a bow with, but if we didn't have her, a lot of guys who like to see that sort of thing would be upset. Am I right?
The sorceress was just fine. She wasn't ridiculous well-endowed, but she wasn't buff either. Her stature fit the fact she was a magic-wielder.
I personally liked the Assassin the best, especially with armor on. She could be formidable without looking like a man.
I have full faith in that Blizzard will make good decisions regarding the designs of females in D3. The female barb looks awesome. Not necessarily attractive, but neither is the male barb. Just being honest.

Thanks for your input, I always love to hear the viewpoints of our ladies of Diablo.
Male barb is a chick-magnet!, lies all lies...
The female barb does look attractive, but it could just be me....
That being said, on a more serious (on topic) note; I for one am glad they didn't just give her a big armour and still made here look like most of the men would want her... She fights and it strong, therefore must look really buff and slightly masculine. Not many games where the female characters actually look like they should in stead of just having a slender body with big 'boobs'...
However I don't like the way the female witchdoctor is portrayed. Whereas the female barb looks like a barb, the female witchdoctor just looks like a woman who dresses a little funny... The male witchdoctor twitches and looks old and slightly on the mad side, where the female witchdoctor, well... doesn't...
I think we need another petition...
Shit, how many petitions have my threads started by now? I've only been posting here three days, how can my thoughts be THIS controversial?

Culturally we seem to be afraid of old women - playing a wizened old wizard is common but an old woman? Unheard of. It's just not done. I agree with you though - I'd like to see an older, twitchier female witch doctor - she looks too much like a sorceress, too young.

There was a female Paladin in Act 2 of Diablo 2.
Remember Fara?
And a female Barbarian in Act 5... Anya.
Also by geneology, Charsi from Act 1.
A female Warrior in Act 4... Jamella.
Notice that none of these are wearing chainmail bikinis: I'd rather we had no women than a game suffering from "Xena warrior princess syndrome" - I hate the way almost every game with a "fantasy" setting seems to be populated with scantily clad bints - it's not that sort of fantasy, it's low brow and purile - Tolkein had strong, sensible female characters: These days the gaming market is larger than obese 40-year-old virgins living in mum's basement (they're all too busy playing with their night elves in WoW/themselves).
Yes, sex sells, but Blizzard is better than that, or at least has always been with Diablo.
Try to put yourself in the female character's shoes in this aspect.
Would you rather face the hordes of hell with full plate and your badass weapon of choice?
Or would you rather be ripped apart while looking FABULOUS.
My two cents.
i had to lol at this. nah i think all the female chars are right so far. i like that they arnt all cutesy. but maybe a FABULOUS looking one wont be too bad!
btw the sorc looks kinda like beyonce doesnt she? or am i the only one?

Remember the String of Ears
"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
I second that. It would be very hard to take yourself seriously if you run around trying to slay evil demons with your junk spilling out everywhere. Sheesh, talk about feeling vulnerable.
I reckon the female barbarian looks sweet. Certainly a good idea for someone like me who leveled several different barbarians with different specs. Gives a bit of variety there, love the idea!
seriously, GROW UP!
Or get a life i dunno, girls are IRL u damn losers >_<, a warrior female can't survive long with no muscles , 2m² boobs and wearing a bikini anyway, so please, just die already u DOA 13 years old fan.
well, just because we want the female classes to look good in D3 doesn't mean we're 13 yr old DOA fans. come on, you probably want that too, hypocrite.

Female Greek Goddess = Amazon. I am Aphrodite, Warrior Goddess, Sparta. I look forward to this new line of characters. Better armor, better weaponry, better graphics. Delicacy for the eye.
Worshiped throughout Greece, she was the goddess of love, marriage, and family life; she was also worshiped as a war goddess, as a Sparta, and as a sea goddess and patroness of sailors.
AND NO I WILL NOT MAKE MY SIGNATURE SMALLER, GO F.O.

errr pardon me....but I think you are mistaken. Aphrodite is the grecian goddess of love and beauty, not of war, warriors and all things military. That title belongs to Athena.
And are you really serious about this post? As to your request, although I won't be using Aphrodite as my name in Blizzard (or any forum for that matter), I don't think you own the "copyright" to that name.

This isn't the 80s, there is no shock factor in repeating what Metroid did.

It's time to welcome the other 80% of the color wheel to a Diablo game.

Yeah agreed on this one for sure.

I will also be using My name there in D3 - Aphrodite. © I've been registered with Blizzard now for over 5 years with this name. I ask that no one, as a joke or otherwise, attempt to use my name, as it will be impersonation. And I will not be pleased.
Thank You.
I wish all well.
Aphrodite

This is so out of place in this thread.
Also, Aphrodite had nothing to do with war..
Maybe you're confused with Athena, who was the personification of war strategy.
