Who the hell cares how pc gaming is doing? More games for more platforms = more fun for everybody (except the devs). Greatest happiness for the greatest number of people. I'm all for D3 on consoles (as long as it's something they work on after it's released)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Ranger - Ranged Weapon Mastery (fire a bow or javelins like a machine gun!), Traps (MK style!), Pets (lions, tigers, and bears oh my!) - physical damage based

LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!
SLOW TIME!!!!!
ps3! diablo fans are a nerdy bunch, the game would hit a wider group on the ps3, not sure about the controls. i started the diablo series on the ps1 in 1998? luckily the requirements for d2 were so low that icould play it on my crap computer. wow was too demanding, expensive, and cartoony.
Consoles are known for Cheap, yet as Powerful as $1000+ PCs!
I HATE to spend $1000+ on a good PC, I don't need, just to play a couple of games!
What's the point in that?
Also, these days, games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, etc PROVES a 2.5D game can Totally be played on Consoles, withOUT a mouse.
So, unlikely you, I URGE Blizzard to reconsider, and DO put it out on consoles. So, for me, I can save my $$$$ for MORE important things!
I can build a PC for $300 that's better than a console... For $1000 I could build a rig that would rape Sony/Microsoft's next console. You're getting ripped off. You won't see Diablo III on a console for the obvious reasons...
1. Diablo III is made by Blizzard thus you will be able to run it fine on a 5 year old computer
2. Blizzard pays M$/Sony/Nintendo 15-45%/game to launch D3 on a console
3. As a console game, D3 will cost $20 more than the PC version
4. Xbox kiddies are worse then B.net kiddies.
Why would Blizzard lose money when pretty much anyone not on welfare can run Diablo III fine? Computer hardware, even used systems are cheap as hell nowadays.
Just take a look at the countless mods made in an attempt to fix things like goofy massive UI etc, menu systems hobbled to work on xbox etc. Not to mention some of the strange decisions that seem to have been made to make it work on consoles such as the cities being separate world spaces etc. This has been covered many times over there and there were a LOT of people rather angered by it, but is not really a discussion for these forums!
Ahhhh, got it. Yeah, I remember the shit with the cities. I leveled up my Acrobatics, and from a hill managed to jump over the wall of the city and walk around a bunch of low poly buildings.
If they put it on consoles, they have to dumb it down even more in order for it to be playable. Not being able to type in game, limited use of keys/buttons with more press-combinations (IE hold down L and X at the same time, while pressing triangle) or something like that. I can't imagine playing Diablo with a controller or joystick
On the slimmest chance that they do; they MUST develop the PC version independently, and then port it. No console changes should afflict the PC version.
Here's my opinion on what may happen. Consoles will get good enough and interactive enough ONE DAY that computer gamming maybe be put the wayside. Alot of professional game writers have been turning to consoles because of the unfortunate and highly political nature of PC gamming. I've seen lots of PC gamming publishers go over time, I.E. G.O.D. games, because of the pressure to put out the games SPECIFICALLY for PC. This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

100% agree, You took my thoughts and put them into words.

By the same token, why should I have to buy a console for certain games when I already have a more powerful PC, on which my games will look and arguably play better than on any console? Platform exclusives suck, but since they do exist, it's up to the developer to decide where they want their games. Blizzard knows that it's largest fanbase is on the PC, and they're designing Diablo 3 so that you won't have to purchase a high end PC to play it. I'm quite certain you could even build a PC for about the same price as a console and still be capable of playing all of today's best games, plus you'll have all the functionality of a PC. If Blizzard would rather focus their time and resources on making the best game possible for the PC, then more power to them.
