I think that strength , dex, and energy attributes should be more usefull in diablo 3 , unlike in diablo 2 where you would use strength just for requirments then dump the rest into vit, etc.
yeah but energy was never touched, except for mana shield sorcs, i think blizzard could come up with some way to spice each attritube a bit more, so people aren't just dumping every point into vitality.
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
There was a formula or something where if you had a maul, when you get 100 str the damage will increase. A ranged weapon was 50/50 for str and dex i think.
Other than that they only proved usefull for items.

If your insane, but still sane enough to know it, are you insane or sane?
The stat problem with casters was energy didn't really do anything except increase mana supply. You'd end up dumping 80% of your points into vitality, because items or pots could take care of your mana supply. I always thought that was a flaw.

Actually, a lot of poor MF sorcs would put plenty into energy.
Im sure they'll make the stat points meaningful. One thing I always missed in WoW was the inability to directly alter your base stats with each level. Instead had to rely solely on items/jewels, which wasnt nearly as neat as in Diablo2, where for example you could do some interesting builds. like dumping ALLLL your points into vitality as a Barbarian, and using +str gear and charms to be able to use items. After the warcries, your HP would go up to the 5,000's. OR you could choose to put the points more into strength, dexterity, for block, and get more damage out of your items.
I didn't like how in WoW you automatically gained the points into each stat without being able to choose. It took away from the character customization, and look what happens, you have scores of identical player characters, all wearing the same PVP gear, running around with the same cookie-cutter builds. Not my idea of fun, and this is one of the major reasons I have recently gotten away from that game after realizing this.
I love customisability, so I like multiple things you can alter to change how effective you are at what you want to do...
I agree that the stats should be more useful... Last I recall Str/Dex were really useful for physical DPS. Like a Martial arts Tstrike Dtail kick sin...

anybody have any opinion on this?
Dex is needed for max block though, so its not all bad.
My mediocre attempt at making a Signature.
