You can't really compare a whole new game line, based in their least popular/successful game world, in a whole different platform... to a carbon copy, exact same game style, sequel to their most successful/popular (not including WoW) game world/platform.
-You have just engaged the wrath of XxL2PxX-
Ummm, say what?
The Starcraft universe being the least popular and lest successful? That statement is full of bias crap, the Starcraft franchise is still popular and living and is one of the most balanced RTS games of all time.
And correct me if I'm wrong, but Starcraft 2 is currently in production and looks promising to many people's views, so how is that going for least successful?
Oh and for popularity, Starcraft far outnumbers the fans of Diablo (Korea, DUH) so don't even start ranting on how Starcraft fails in the gaming world.
I never said anything about starcraft failing in the gaming world... I said it was the least popular blizzard franchise out of Starcraft, Warcraft and Diablo... AND that wasn't even my point.
Warcraft orcs & humans and then Warcraft 2 got Blizzard it's fame and made it well known, Diablo II was the game that began their money mountain, with 18.5 million sales.... Starcraft was a great game, but lived in the shadow of WC2 and D2.
Starcraft is Brilliant, all their games are a success, well done, fun to play. Starcraft ghost was never even completed or released on any level, it was a whole new gaming platform as opposed to a direct sequel... so no, you can't compare it to Diablo 3

You have just contradicted yourself.
And Starcraft sucks compared to the other two franchises, have you heard nothing of my previous posts? Starcraft by far has sold more copies and has more fans than Diablo could ever have (Korea again, DUH). It is also one of the best balanced RTS games of ALL TIME. Other than the Diablo series which is barely balanced at all.
Diablo ain't an RTS, by the by, how hard is it to balance paper rock scissors anyways?
I don't even know why Starcraft is relevant in this thread and i'm too lazy to backtrack.
I take it you never played Starcraft.
Anyways, the reason I'm all getting worked up is because I'm a Starcraft Generation fan and one guy starts dissing the whole franchise entirely.
In more revelant terms, it's like dissing the Diablo franchise
First of all get a dictionary and look up contradiction. By your definition there can only be one at the top and anything else is terrible.
Just because something is better/more popular doesn't mean that the other cannot be good.

I think this guy is an emotional wreck... he's being completely irrational and side stepping any reason to try and prove why Starcraft is the greatest thing in the world. Whereas I didn't even diss Starcraft. I own a copy, regularly play and love the game.
He decided that Starcraft Ghost failing is evidence that blizzard can screw up... which is fine, because no ones perfect and one day blizzard will release a flop. However I was pointing out that they were experimenting with an FPS, for the first time ever, as a spin off of their lesser known/played franchise... compared to D3 which is a carbon copy sequel to a highly successful/popular franchise...
This does in no way mean that Starcraft isn't successful/popular or great. But that's how XxL2PxX is chosing to interpret it.

Now look at the bolded part of this quote above. See the obvious contradiction of both quotes? You deny the fact that you didn't diss Starcraft, and here you are with this quote I have quoted from you saying that you DID diss Starcraft. You denied the truth and by the dictionary, that is a contradiction.
-------------------
Anyways, aside from the contradiciton part. Insulting Starcraft and admitting you insulted Starcraft is just idiotic of the fact that you are defending that Blizzard's released and recent games are perfect as stated by this quote here, which started this whole argument:
Quote from "Flamingdts" »
Well the be honest, the game is gonna be awesome. You can assume something good from D3 because the producers are Blizzard. I have nothing against the petition nor am I for the petition. I just know Blizzard will give you something good no matter what. If you disagree with me, check out what games blizzard has released in the last 12 years and check out the scores and awards for each one.
Blizzard has my respect, and for those who played more than just Diablo games you should know how trustable and reliable Blizzard as a company is. And no, I did not start off with D1, I started with D2, then played D1 (but not hellfire).
The thing is, people are asking to be flamed. They're pushing useful threads and topics down just to post their opinions worth one post, not a thread. For some who flames regardless of topic, its just another flame thread. For those who actually want to discuss, its annoying and pathetic.

Actually you are incorrect. He simply stated the ranking of the games via retail sales. This is a fact, not a diss, he misinterpreted it as a diss, that was his only mistake. Then he began to voice his opinion that starcraft is a great game. Nowhere did he insult the franchise. He pointed out that Starcraft's rank, places it as a not-as-popular franchise. I'm sorry, but L2P you're struggling to come up with a decent arguement, you just aren't comprehending his posts very well.

I'll put it like this, in more simpleton terms. L2P, in order, which franchise has the least amount of sales. Then you say: "Why SpanishBard that would be Starcraft". Well then it would be reasonable for someone to say, "Because Starcraft hasn't hit the global market as well as the other franchises, it is the least popular". Make sense? This is an opinion based off of a statistical analysis. That's all it is. It isn't a diss. When he said he was dissing starcraft, he misinterpreted himself. He wasn't dissing starcraft, he was presenting the facts about starcraft in a negative light. He himself, was not dissing starcraft. This is where you're getting confused. So the conclusion is: he was not dissing starcraft, simply discussing retail sales and popularity.
Starcraft is quite popular in Korea; however, globally it only has about 9.5 million sales. The Diablo franchise has about 20 million. Now, Diablo has 2 games and an expansion, so that sequel helped push those numbers. So one could also argue that because Blizzard hasn't invested as much time into Starcraft and sequels, those retail sales may not represent popularity.
He isn't contradicting himself. Only misrepresenting himself. If I say, "Starcraft hasn't sold as well as the other games, but I still love starcraft". How is that quote at all a contradiction?

If not then my point stands that he still denies the fact that he dissed Starcraft, WITH BOTH QUOTES SHOWN. Misinterpretation or not, it's his fault that he can't get his own facts straight.

As for the 'literal argument': The whole purpose of this thread and argument is to BOICE OUT YOUR OPINION. Does it really help yourself if you use sarcasm as your backup for your opinion?
To voice out your own opinion you have to be literal or someone will turn your own post over you which I have basically done.
Well, now since this argument is finished as from you said, then let the thread resume its original couse on Barbarian's Glowing Weapons. If you do not wish to let the thread resume then you will reply to this post in a fashion of going against this post.

XD, I laughed about the part of the Crusade
Anyways, for the 'my own hypocritical medicine' thrown at me, sales and fans are completely different aspects. Many people buy the game and throw it out a few days later. Fans actually buy the game, heard about the game, experienced the game, and staying true to the game. So if you want to bash me with one of my own quotes do better next time
As for the 'literal argument': The whole purpose of this thread and argument is to BOICE OUT YOUR OPINION.
Good day to you now!
