No. Heaps of idiotic geeks will try and hit on you.
It doesn't matter if you're male or female (character or otherwise). I'm female, and I've been hit on while playing as male characters several times before. Is it obnoxious? Yes, but it's something you just deal with.
Funny enough, even when it's known that I'm female, I still get mistaken for a guy a lot. An old guild of mine on another game thought I was a guy until we spoke over Ventrilo. Lol, now that was an awesome day.
As for the topic, of course I'll be playing a female character. I really like the option of being able to choose the gender of your character, regardless of the class. I get a little tired of the typical female weakling caster, so I'll likely be choosing a melee class.
I do wonder, though, why are people so opposed to the idea of a female Barbarian (or any female melee class, for that matter)? Diablo II has plenty of female warriors: Fara, Jamella, Asheara, Kashya, Natalya, and probably Anya. Lore even points to males in Amazon society, so I don't see why that's a huge issue, either.
I used to choose male characters because I want him to represent my alter ego. But that was before... I now rather choose female characters and stare at them from time to time. Its like reading a magazine that contains hot girls.
This is basically it, I'm not against the concept of it at all, I just didn't see the Barbarians portrayed as a race.
They really just struck me as a nordic culture whos males were raised as warriors.
Good point.

lol me too!
i wonder if there are skill - boob smash! or ass bounce! haha
Does the Barbarian in D2 have a 'penis smash' skill? There is your answer right there.

I might choose the opposite sex of what was available on Diablo II. i.e Diablo II had a Male Barbarian, so I'll make a Female Barbarian etc. As for the new ones, I'll more than likely make them Male. Not sure, though.
Honestly, I'd rather look at a female's ass when I'm running around instead of watching a male's ass all game Call me heterosexual if you want.. I don't care
I just can't see a female barbarian... I don't think they should allow a female barbarian class.
Did you see any female barbarians in D2 at Harrogath?
There was Mala and Anya both nothing close to be barbaric.
If you look out in the areas surrounding Harrogath (especially in the Bloody Foothills), you can see hanged corpses of Barbarians. They are dressed similar to the way Anya is, so one can assume that they are female; they probably died fighting alongside their male comrades.
I rather liked D2's gender specific classes. I don't know if I'll like barbs being females and Sorcs being males.
The first thing I'm doing in D3 is making a Female Sorceress.

I can understand that to a point. The D2 manual afterall does state that the Sorceress scouts seek out only females. But I don't mind the idea of a female Barb. I especially would love to play as a female Necromancer-with long silver hair.
If I play long enough, I'll probably try out both genders. I really like the female WD at this point, but when it comes to barbarians and, say, paladins, I prefer men.
I also usually create female avatars, but this time around I plan on making a dood (Barbarian). I like the animations an' audio of the male Barbarians more than the females.
Ah the good ol excuse that never seems to get old.
I really don't care. If I feel like making a female character I will, and if I want to make a male I will.

CHeck out conan destroyer there seems to be a real female barbarian quite wild one!
I will probably make 1 of each class as male first then prolly the next ones female just to see something new.
RIP: Demon Hunter: lvl 50 | Barb: lvl 60 (plvl 5) | Monk: lvl12 & lvl70 (plvl 200)
Thats... kind of sad.
Either you make a female character or you don't. Either your forced to play a certain sex or you choose. What's the big deal?
