The amusement comes from the fact that it is out of place, much like the space orc in W3
The chances of guns/hand cannons in Diablo are probably next to nill, but even if it did somehow make it into the game, I'd like to think that it'll be in there as a novelty item rather than a core part of the gameplay, which to me would be pretty amusing

Read the first goddamned post. I never said anything about a revolver. Firearms would be a two handed weapon akin to bows and crossbows. And yes, firearms were in the middle ages. So please, get your facts from somewhere besides Hollywood.

Still, it's even more ammusing you can't come up with a decent argument on the historical accuracy coupled with the magical imbuements that a hand cannon style weapon would have. I have stated multiple times that if done properly it would fit right in, and yet all I have heard in response is whining and crying akin to the arguement against the colors scheme of Diablo 3.

I don't know if anyone came up with this yet, but what if some of your allies had cannons and/or a new monster class uses cannons against you??.....no guns however i don't want my Pally launching rockets out of his shield like James Bond.
er.... SC2 isn't even out yet and the closest thing we've seen so far to a Space Orc in SC2 would be the Tauren Marine back during the April Fools earlier this year. But whatever, I'll take your word on it anyway.

Great, guns in Diablo are plausible. I never said they weren't. Just that it'd didn't fit the image that I had of Diablo. If there are guns in D3, fine. If they're not, fine. I don't care either way, guns are one of the least of my concerns when it comes to D3. And yet here you are accusing me of whining and complaining when I havn't even done anything close to it.

I have to agree with brocko here. Its not about it being plausible or not, it is about making it fit within the world of Sanctuary, i think it "could" be possible to make them fit, but i also think its very easy to screw it up and end up with dumb manga guns or whatever. So its maybe better to stay clear away from them, less you screw up immersion.
I would agree. But guns simply don't fit in Sanctuary. They fit in Azeroth, but not Sanctuary.
