Well, worst case senario they could put muskets in, but that does NOT mean I would want to see guns in Diablo 3. I shall repeat: D3 with guns = Hellgate: London
The only hack n slash that kind of worked well with guns that I've played was Fallout : Brotherhood of Steel, and a game that worked out horribly with guns was Hellgate:London which kind of did everything bad.
Peter Molyneux is doing that to Fable 2.
I personally don't like the idea of guns in fantasy games.. but Fable 2 has early gen. guns, which I don't think will be very bad.
Might be kinda weird to get used to..
Diablo 3 would have early generation guns as well though. Either early generation guns or early generation cannons. The quote doesn't refer specifically to small arms fire, for all we know it could be a big early generation cannon that he was talking about. (And most likely that is what he was talking about.)

To be fair, though, early guns & rifles were completely inferior to that of bows. The only reason rifles ever trumped bows were because while bows took years, maybe decades, of dedicated training to master, any one damn peasant could carry and fire a gun.
"Point stick. Press here." etc.
Untrue. Early guns were rather difficult, and even useless if you got the rope wet. (Yes, match-lock rifles used a rope that was on fire.) Guns were almost as hard as bows to use, they just surpassed bows as a war machine because of technilogical advancements.

guns against demons? this is diablo not sci-fi, they have warcraft to play w/ the guns
Warcraft one has no guns. Warcraft two has primitive explosives. Warcraft three finnally had guns. Warcraft is an evolving universe. Do you want Warcraft to be better then Diablo? It's been twenty years, plently of time for primitive cannons to be implimented. And if cannons are implimented well, you will most likely be singing a different tune...
You guys are seriously failing to remember the 100 years war, even though it was about 100 years in the future of the times in Sanctuary (That's the Diablo world) cannons were a primary siege weapon of the british (it's ironic that they still lost with that kind of weaponry, must have been far too primative to be practical.)
Sanctuary is a creation of angels and demons even, I mean really guys, the time theme is all that matches up with our era, how they progress is up to them. Larzuk had ample time to test out his theory, he had all the metal and exploding powder he needed, and even if he supposedly has died (They never say that he does die within those 20 years) smiths pass on their legacy to their children and so on, so it's entirely plausable, albeit highly unlikely to be an occurance.
I highly doubt it, but those are some good points you made in the OP. Technically speaking I guess it might fit, but from a gameplay standpoint I think it would ruin Diablo. We've already got some projectile classes (most likely), so let's just leave it at that.
The thought of guns in Diablo makes me cry. Just my opinion of course, but I'm glad to know that the devs are trying to stay "true to the Diablo series", which they would fail at if they put guns in.
I hope to god that they do not put guns in. Crossbows are fine if they make them shoot a little faster. Guns would just kill the game, make it too Devil May Cryish...
crap at least let demons have guns 2 , and some granades and smoke ,, and bet yet lets play some call of dutty , but i forgot this is a shooter game or what ? ..... where is diablo going to ? next diablo release will have some laser swords ? and a death star ?....
also if they having weapons why use hard weight restricted movement armors ? you better have light weight so that way you can run faster , jump higher also have more ammunitions .....
and why using a sword or a knife you can have a one handed gun.
implementing guns in Diablo 3 would make my life that much more fulfilling you know? I would be able to sleep at night knowing there are guns in D3, contributing to gameplay and lore, and that they don't look silly or out of place at all. Jesus christ lets get these cannons and gattling guns in there ASAP, why didn't i see a godamn gun in the demo? not one !! shit..
We're not talking about machine guns that can rip trees from their roots. We're talking miniature cannons that fire little steel balls, and barely pierce steel armor.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

Exactly. Can we get the stupid posts deleted? There is no way your going to have pistols or rifles or anything like CoD or HG:L or anything from the industrial age in here. If you have gunpowder-powered weaponry it would either be 1400-1500's technology in which it was mostly siege weaponry akin to trebuchets and catapults of Diablo 2...

Oh ok, Change the name of the thread if you mean little cannons... I thought the OP meant guns... about to tell him to play HGL, but apparently thats not the case anymore right
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura!!
It was actually a pretty good game.
But, yeah, no guns in Diablo please.

According to Larzuk's words.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
