I think the slots with a weighting system would be best. But instead of being like fallout, and not being able to move when overloaded, you would just drain stamina faster depending on how much extra weight you carried. And when you increase your strength, you can carry more. That way you can't carry a ridiculous load of items, but you aren't as limited as the tetris style.
the tetris system was fine... completely utterly fine... i mean what are we gonna do when we get a gc and sc? just not be able to hold the stuff we come across becausae our inv is full of 20 lifer scs?like in d2 we had the cube so if u filled ur inv with scs u could still pick up 12 slots of stuff... idk w/e tell me if htat made sense im not with at itm
NO MORE TETRIS!!!!!!! NO MORE GETTINg ONE ITEM FROM D EVERY DANG CS RUN!!!!! NO MOIRE PICKITS!!! NO MORE SUSHI!!!

I got it all wrong there.. I thought the last option "MY CHOICE" was something we, the voter, should come up with.. didn't fully read your post I guess Oh well, I actually agree with your choice, it sounds really cool especially since I like the wow bag system. It may not be the most realistic thing out there but it sure as hell is comfortable!
I really enjoyed that the Diablo II invetory system. For those of you who dont like it, (because of the weight limit or size limit) i disagree! the best part is useing critical thinking to see what items to take and leave behind. Although it may be a bummer to leave good stuff behind you can always use a portal... soo i think it should stay the way it was in diablo 2
Well, charms seem to be ruled out in terms of keeping them in your inventory, if indeed each item is worth one spot, no matter how small or large. So, what I think they will do is turn the "Talisman" into some sort of charm chain, where you can attach up to say 7 or so charms. I think that would be organized and efficient - easy to understand. Plus I think that could control the godly players from getting even more outrageous.
If I were to be in control of the inventory system, I'd make the item inventory interface look like the inside of a leather bag, and inside would be images of the items you're carrying. Each item would have a weight rating. Strength would determine your maximum carrying capacity. Your items could be arranged anyway you like. You could drag swords into the left corner of the bag, and maybe drag all your gems to the opposite corner. Maybe place all your potions in the middle for easy access. Any area inside the bag is viable to place an item. You can even stack items over each other's image. The key here is that it's based on the weight of your item, not the size or shape. This can also allow you to organize the items in your bag in any way you choose. This idea comes straight from Ultima Online's inventory system, and the grittyness of the leather bag image would add a rugged and beat-up look - perfect for any Diablo game.
Diablo is all about the loot and in D3 town portals are either eliminated or much more rare like potions (replaced with the waypoint/checkpoint system). Since you can't use portals as often/as freely as before (if at all), more equipment will have to be left behind unless we have a system that doesn't restrict how much we can pick up so much. The one item per slot system, with no weight limit, would be nice. Possibly with multiple tabs/"bags" so that slots are not tiny nor does the inventory take so much space on the screen. The ability to scroll over/right click an item to see a larger image and specs would be really nice too, rotating the item could be done but might be hoping for too much (and would mean waiting a bit longer for the game).
I like the tetris system, but I'm not sure it would work as well in D3.
The grid system gets annoying fast. A leather bag with weight could get annoying too. All the time spent juggling items and shifting things around should be spent hurting things.

when your video game console is broken, do you want to save money? Repairing it on your own is a great way to save lots of money not only on the cost of the replacement, but the cost of labor as well. It’s easy to repair it with the guideline, so you just need a screwdrive and a new replacement which you can get cheaply from GainGame.

whoa, sorry for the weird post. must be low on meds.
on topic, the blizzcon inv seems unpolished. the inv seems okay. a few graphical tweaks, and its ready to go.
