D1+2 system was perfect. It was what made the game so fun for so many.
You actually had to work hard to get all the sets and have the best items and it was a challenge to get items. I think it is what kept a lot of people for around so long and is the reason i keep going back to playing D2.
Is there any news on which system they will use? They never mentioned anything about it I don't think, or magic find for that matter.
You can MF a lot of places in D2 if you make a good build. There was no best d2 player...most players were known coz of their trading rather than their fighting.
Trading for gold is so boring and pointless. Anyone can get any item they want. I'd rather have to trade or MF to find a good item I can trade for the item I want.
I believe that gold should be worth more than buying potions and mediocre weapons at low levels while you are playing on your own. I think you should be able to spend gold to buy the some of the best stuff... But not THE best... I think the system of trading and MF-ing to get really great stuff on D2 was a bit ridiculous and lead to cheating, basically stealing things from others in order to get good items. You should have somewhere in the highest ACT where you could buy good items, parts to sets, but the higher the level you are, the better stuff you can buy, thus making it impossible for you to trade millions of gold to someone so they can go buy the best items at low levels. I really hope that blizzard has thought of things like that, because i had great items in D2, but you had to have friends and MF-ing characters to find good items.

I agree there can be stuff you should be able to buy but the best stuff should not be able to be bought.
Making a MF character is fun and getting over 800mf and finding 3 tal rasha armors in 5 baal runs

I have no problem with working hard for items but gold should have some value beyond buying potions.
