Yeah, I would never visit there either, so its of no consequence to me. If anything, I think Blizzard could use those types of servers to get an idea of what hacks / bots people are using and use that knowledge to better keep them off of the main servers.
well it has been controlled in closed b.net, and they have really controlled uhh running people through act 2, so open b.net is really just a place where the hackers and dupers can go to have fun
NO, but I do think a character editor, which open bnet is often used for, would be an interesting addition to plan out your character. But I can also see down falls to that as only certain characters would be built.
Open battle.net wasn't intended for your hacks. It was intended for singleplayer characters to be used in multiplayer games, and because Blizzard knew they couldn't control cheating on singleplayer, they didn't monitor open battle.net.
Sure why not? If you don't like it you do not have to play it, but plenty of people did like to play on it. Also, if you are one of your friends are playing separate singleplayer games then open b.net is a good way to trade stuff.

What he said. I guess there are obviously people out there who see fun in it, but I've never understood it.
Just as long as they keep a Closed B.net and actually manage to keep hacks / dupes / etc. out of the picture for the rest of us, I say go for it?
