I think its obvious what developers SHOULD do, and what they DO do. So many games don't include the fans in the development process, and i don't understand. If we are the loyal fans that play the games, don't you think we could have some good advice and input on it? I hope blizzard is one of those companies (i know their games but haven't actually followed a creation like this) that does this. Give the players what they want seems like an obvious idea to me lol. In this case they could simply rework the design a bit, and add some pretty easy stuff that i think everyone would say they want in the game.
bah!!! i hear ya, but like a guy posted about having a beta...i don't think they should release a beta to the fans, but how about a downloadable tiny demo that gives people the idea of it all...this would then provide players to give their impression of the game...if anything is overwhelmingly voted against as bad by all the fans...its PROBABLLY a good idea to ditch it.
Im sure that the people who work at blizzard have brainstormed some of the idea that the some of the fans have come up with, and have decided that it wouldnt work to well with the game. So far they havent disappointed me yet, so I put my faith in them
In my experience most gamers think they know what they want, however they really don't.

Lol if blizzard took everything the fans wanted, and put it in the game, the game would hands down be terrible.
A lot of people think they know things that would make the game a lot better,
but really once it is thrown in and people have actually SEEN it, it would just make the game crap.
Let blizzard do their work and make great games like they have before.
I know exactly what you mean. I work for a software development company and the same holds true for software, the users think they know what they want, but they really don't. If all of the 'features' that are users wanted were included in a software release it would definitely suck.
I'll love the game no matter what. No matter how they do it once it's released there will be things that could have been better and things that you'll love. Theres no way to please everybody as is evident by all the posts here so they are working more internally and with what's proven. And in my opinion as being a business owner, any company should have full control over how they want to make a product. It's like art, if you want to paint a girl with a knife and a lollipop, yet someones telling you to paint a guy with a gun, most likely youre still going to paint what you want to but may take what others are saying into consideration but not to the point where others have control of your work.
I agree with the idea that gamers don't necessarily know, in all seriousness, what they want, or they might not have the best ideas about how things should be implemented.
How often have we been blown away and thought, 'I never would have thought of that!'
Blizzard hires gamers. Yes, they're a company and their goal is to make money, but their best chance of doing that is creating a game that gamers will love and buy and keep coming back to and obsessively chatter to their friends about, etc. . .
I think 'fan input' is a factor, I do think our input is reflected, but that doesn't mean Blizzard needs to meander around forums on fan sites all day long to find it. They're smart. They're amazing at making good games. I don't think they need to come to diablofans.com for input
The allmighty and allknowing Blizzard and the stupid zombie fans. It's good to see that some people here know what should be done and know exactly what they want. Really, it adds some 'color' to the whole picture.:)

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
Although i hear all of what you guys are saying, sometimes, believe it or not, even the best of companies come out with really stupid ideas that make you wonder why in the hell they ever swapped out the old style for the new. It happens! I simply want diablo 3 to live up to the name...kind alike i wanted goldeneye rogue agent to live up to its name...instead EA disgraced it! lol....not that thats what i think will happen to this game...i have high hopes, but still have concerns.
oh and btw, in the video he opens up a panel when hes switching his skills and it shows a row of (i think) 6 skills, stacked by a row of six skills, and then stacked by 1 skill with 5 spaces...does this mean there are going to be 18 skills per person, or does this mean it just expands the box every time you cget enough skills...i sure as hell hope they can match diablo 2 in the amount of skills and builds you can make! i believe D2 had 30 skills per char.
I can assure you that Blizzard is taking a look at these forums and letting these ideas influence their decisions. I can tell you, personally, that changes do happen based on fan input. I've been pretty active on the teamliquid forums (SC2) and they made countless threads on the design of the seige tank and the viability of some units. And sure enough, after a couple of weeks, the changes were made. That is to say, that there was plenty of discussion in the forums about the topics, and the changes were actually logical.
Plus, the game was only announced last weekend, Blizzard hasn't had enough time to discuss and implement the topics brought up in this forum. Just wait.

It's sad, every other thread seems to be a bitch thread against a great game.

You can 'assure' me huh?
I highly doubt it. From everything they've been saying they know exactly what they're doing. Now when there's a beta (open/closed/in-house/whatever) they will obviously be looking for input, but do you think they're sitting around the offices right now on these forums going, 'OMG DID YOU SEE THAT POLL WE BETTER BRING THE NECRO BACK' blah blah blah...

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
lol i heard of the petition and i signed it....some people are not understanding exactly what I'm saying...as i am not only talking about the visuals or anything in specific...I'm just saying WE are the ones that play the game...so i wouldn't exactly call us morons as one did.
oh btw, 2316 people strong in the petition and RISING ;). Its a fact that many people believe diablo doesnt look quite right (i do like it and will play it no matter what)...can you imagine people loving devil may cry then on the fourth one they went and made it really vibrant and put frikkin rainbows in the background....that would SUCK!!!
