Keep Battle.net free. I don't want to pay for what's always been a free to play game.
I'll vote for "It depends, maybe" because I want to see what the game has to offer and what the price would be. I really want to play D3, but having to pay monthly would really be dumb.
I'd definitely pay a monthly fee for a game that is worth it. I don't mind spending $15 or so a month for something that will keep me entertained.

I cannot see myself buying it at all if there is a pay-per-month scheme imbedded within it. As much as I love Diablo, I will stick with playing the older games if Blizzard decides it needs another money grabber.
I see them charging for Battlenet 2.0 however, while the single player remains free. The only question to me will be will they allow LAN play. Yes: I will probably buy it, despite the poorer art direction. NO: Noc hance in hell then.
The money thing is only really an issue to the prepubescent teens. I already have a strong feeling that whenever Diablo 3 comes out it'll be the only game I'll be playing for a couple years so I wont mind paying a little bit of money every month if need be. Though I don't think that they'll charge monthly for this one unless the multiplayer features are more intense than I thought.
