I hope charms are removed, because they're unnecessary
Dude Charms alow us to equip items without having to put points into strength (small +2 stre charms) the torch and anni were also charms and they were useful, small +5 resistance charms, and many more so don't say that they are unnecessary....
Gold was dropped on the ground and when picked up it never gave floating yellow letters, neither did it fill up the bar whenever you heard the "coin" sound.
My main concern is, I don't want to go around dungeons destroying chairs and finally leveling up because I epicly murdered a table.
they still have potions but they wont be overused anymore.
Link please.
diablo 2 had many more npcs. But does anyone remember anything about them? i sure as hell dont. The voice acting was shitty.
Guess we're not on the same boat. I remember Akara, Cain, Atma, Elzix, Qual-Khek, and many others vividly. One of the main issues here is because no one listened to them since everyone was getting "rushed" and did not pay attention to the NPC speech or storyline to any great or appropriate length.
diablo 2 - you enter the river of flame - "............ ok....... oh wow... theres bugs in here.... and fire...... yep lots of fire..... and the music is............ ok........... thats nice."
With the insect monsters I have to agree with you, it made no sense to me.
they should add and arena where you can duel fairly. Maybe they can also make trading games where a lot of people can join to trade items, they could also make like a clan hall where all clan members can join in(this will be inside of a game not in b.net)
I think those are wonderful ideas. Maybe they could even separate chat rooms and game listings so that you wouldn't get spammed a bunch of random crap about dueling, trading, and joining guilds (not clans- clans are for shooting games), but instead games about actually playing the game and getting through it.
guys/gals keep in mind that this is ELARY in the Dev process a ton of things could change. it's to elary to say it's a fail because of how it looks now, btw i think it looks great and can see the potential for an awsome game.

this is suppose to be a discussion, i don't know why other peeps are bashing the game, we just throwing some ideas that might help the game, who knows maybe blizzard peeps are reading stuff in this forum since they have a link for it at official D3 website^_^
I don't believe that was damage. I have a strong guess that it was experience seeing as how the yellow bar beneth the skill toolbar filled up with everytime the orange-y numbers popped up.
A question on this...
Not all the monsters killed gave this "experience". It seemed as if it was randomly prompted after a kill of a mob. However, when you destroy, for example, desks or barricades you are also given this yellow/orange number. Does this mean I'm going to go around dungeons killing mobs and focusing on finding a desk to break or a wall to collaspse so I can level? Seems a bit silly...

True diablo and starcraft players call their guild's clans, Guild is usually use in WoW lol I'm a true diablo player!;)
I am not trying to bash the game, because I have yet to play it, but I have scene some images/videos of someone playing it. The colors, graphics, animations, and so on don't make me want to play the game. Everything I've seen makes me say wow, I already have this game for my PS2 console (Baulders Gate Dark Alliance), so why would I buy this game? That is my point.
The skills are getting ridiculous (Locus?), oh yay, "I'm gonna summon me up some bugs!"
I mean, get real now, is this Diablo, or is it a new series from Blizzard just named Diablo III?
i think what i want to most is low system required so most of people can play it..and no monthly fee. that is the most important for me in the moment..after there is also the characters i would like dont know how to explain it but...like if you have a kind of helm and you switch for another i want that it werent the same armor that appear like in d2 i want that each armor have is own look. then, when i looked to the video, i saw that the barb was killing every monster easily so i think it where very boring if you just walk and kill little monster...we need some challenge...after i think that guild would be nice:) and also if we can have a job like take th fur to the beast that we killed and make an armor with it*-) i think its enough for now.. ill post some thing else when i will have some idea
yeah i remember some thing...if the money can be usefull in that d2 like with 100k you can buy a good item or some thing like that..because in d2 the only thing that the money was usefull it was when youre wep was broken

You didn't like the animations? What is wrong with you..

ill list my few big needs in D3 that i think would keep the feel of Diablo in a very good way...
1.) Open dungeons and fields at least some of the time (i noticed that the dungeons seem to be very linear and room to room...not one big area...we need both).
2.) Possibility of darker graphic style and armor redisign (as i agree but at the same time feel it is pretty decent).
3.) Skill trees that allow for multiple and highly customizable builds (such as the hammerdin, conviction pally, fanatacism pally, and so on)....by this I mean i dont want everyones barb to be the same thing, running around whirlwinding...GIVE US OPTIONS!!!
4.) No respecing, or atleast very limited respecing (it takes away from what i said above, and therefore takes away most of the fun that was in diablo 2).
5.) Many very hard to find unique items as diablo 2 had (if everyone can find this item by killing a boss it is no longer very unique, fun or gives the feeling of power).
6.) Bring back pots as the main source, as well as town portals adn scrolls of identification (this one i am flexible on, but i am a bit scared the health orbs will make the game too easy).
7.) Make it HARD!!! (diablo 2 was perfect with its difficulty from normal, to nightmare, and then to hell).
8.) Have nightmare and hell monsters drop better items (such as the exceptional and elite items items)

you think the pots system in D2 didnt make it easy?? pots drop every third or fourth mob and y9u can buy them from vendors. the health orbs in the demo did NOT drop very frequently and personally i'm sick of people using pots in duels
edit: also if you watch the barb's health when he picks up an orb it doesnt go up very much only about 1/6 or so
There is also a town portal (albeit Cain takes it and not the character) but the mere presence of it in the video lends itself to the fact that there will most likely be TPs in D3 also.
You guys all just have to learn to accept the graphics. I am too also a big Diablo fan but I am accepting what Blizzard is doing. It seems like they had worked very hard to make this game. So far they have worked on it for 4 years and it is still in early development.
*Inventory- It looks like they are abandoning the "grid" inventory that D2 had. A lot of people, including myself, liked this but I realize that this change might be a good one. If they use "slots" instead, I think that would be better. You won't have to worry about playing tetris with your items.
*Skill trees- I really hope that D3 uses synergies like D2 did in it's later patches. I really liked how if you ran into a sorceress, that sorceress could specialize in Hydra, Meteor, Fireball, Lightning, Nova, Blizzard, or Frozen Orb. I liked how each class had many different builds since the skills had synergies. I hope that D3 doesn't change this to talent points like in WoW.
*Potions- Potions should be cheap and available at vendors in the main cities. I really don't like the idea of "health orbs" I'd really rather just have potions and that's it. I think "health orbs" would make the game a little too easy.
*Softcore/Hardcore- Blizzard already said that Hardcore would most likely be added in because of it's popularity in D2. I never really liked hardcore very much but I'd love to see it in D3. (I only got to 85 before I was tppked)
*Experience system- I think that 1-40 should be just about as hard or a little bit harder than it was in D2, 41-70 should be harder than it was in D2, 71-90 should be about the same as it was in D2, 91-100 should be easier than it was in D2. Basically, I think that leveling should be fun, but I don't think reaching the level cap should take 3 months of time played like it was in D2. The highest I got to was 96 and that wasn't too hard. If you knew what you were doing in D2 and you had a a bit of help, you could easily do 1-90 in one day, but level 98-99 would take you months.
*Attributes- D2 nailed it. I have no complaints. Hopefully it stays the same or very similar.
*Items/Weapons- I really hope that they don't make Items and Armor look unrealistic. One of the things I liked about D2 was how realistic the items looked on the characters. I didn't like the over-sized shoulderguards on the barbarian shown in the gameplay footage.
*Graphics (Color scheme)- Like so many other people think, I believe that D3 could be a little darker and creepier. Of course we haven't really seen all that much so there is no telling what other areas look like.
*Respecs (Did I spell it right?)- No. If you've made a mistake you should have to pay for it. Go remake your character if you messed up. That being said, maybe there should be a feature in the options menu that would prevent players from accidently spending skill points. Like a "are you sure?" prompt when you try to spend a skill point. This feature could be enabled or disabled in the menu.
*Trading System- Gold should not be the currency imo. A lot of people played because of trading. Bartering and spending time in the trade channels was actually fun. Hunting down that weapon or armor you wanted was hard to do, and once you found it and traded for it, it was much more rewarding than paying for it with gold. Maybe they could add an auction house, where you could post items that you wanted to trade and people could leave you offers, just not gold offers.
*Party System- Keep it pretty much the same, please. D2 did a good job on the party system. The only thing I'd like to see is game size increased from 8 to 12-15.
*Guild System- I'd be nice to have some sort of guild feature. Although, since the number of players allowed in a game will most likely remain low, It'd be hard for an entire guild to meet all at once. Perhaps limit guild size to 15 or 20.
